Pics of rim with outer black paint removed

All I can say is WAAOOWWW! Very sharp looking bike. It reminds me of my ZX11. That's how it had its wheels from the factory. Polished rim, blacked out middle.

It really changes the lines of the bike. I wonder if I can pay someone to do that professionally??

That process is very simple. Just take some air-craft paint stripper, brush it on the area that you want to do, and wel-la it's starting to bubble and peel off. Remember that you might want to tape off the unwanted areas that you do not want to fade. Usually the paint in the middle doesn't strip off like the outsides but it does fad the color a little. The total job usually takes about 1 hour, and to get a real good shine, use some aluminum cleaner like mothers, semichrome, wenol, or some eagal one mag cleaner/polish. It's easier if you take off the tires, but you can do the job with the tires still on. I've used this process with on these types of bikes... busa, zx9, zx7, gsxr1100, ect...

I just did this and I want to say THANK YOU! THANK YOU !THANK YOU! the paint remover cost me $8.50 plus tax the little paint brush about $.50 and the 20 minutes invested (most of which i was just sit'n around waiting)I got this done for less than $20.00. I was just about to take it to a shop to have it done for $55.00 each wheel not including the price to take off the wheels. Once again THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For well under $10.00 for the supplies, it's one of the most economical ways to make a big change in the appearance of the bike. Does anyone know if the rear handle is aluminum? I'm thinking I may try this process on it also.

Way to go on your new look!! I hope that the information was helpful. If you have any other polishing questions; just post for me. Again, NICE JOB!!

Nice job. I wonder if it would look the same if you made the front and rear paint removal the same width. You know, just the flat edges of the rims.
