So I have gotten 2 punctures in a period of 350 miles on two tires, both the Stradas.
The first tire had about 1200 miles on it and it got a sheet metal screw in the center. I replaced that tire and tonight, 350 miles later, I found a piece of reinforced plastic in the center.
I have been riding for 46 years on all kinds of bikes and conditions and have had 4 or 5 flats until these two.
I went with the Stradas as I'm older and slowing down and don't really need a sport tire. Plus I don't believe you need the performance of a sport tire for the street in 99.9% of the cases. So I thought I would go with the harder compound to get some more mileage.
My question is, is this tire known for this? Is there something unique to the tire that makes it likely to get punctures? Or is this just crappy luck and payback for not having many flats in the past?
$200.00 every 350 miles will break the bank.....
I did change tires, and will be putting a Metzeler M1 Sportec on it this time, maybe my luck will change with a sport tire.......
