Pirelli Diablo Supersport Tires

It's a good deal over all I suppose, but not for me and my style of ridin ... I bought a set a few years ago and they were great for the about 1000 miles but dropped off rapidly after that. After lots of slippin & slidin they by 1800 miles were very done!

Thanks Kent, I think I'll stick with my Qualifiers then.

Qualifiers have got to be better. They are way newer. Pirelli Diablos have never let me down on street, rain, twisties, trackdays, but yeah - stick great, don't last

NO GO - I tried them last sale & got 2400 out of the rear then cords exposed. No burn outs, just normal riding. I felt like they took longer to heat up too. I will stick w/ Michelin.

Pirelli Diablos are great tires. Just like any other tire that performs well, they don't last long. I doubt anyone will out ride Diablos on the street. They work quite well on the track. I wish I could fine the Corsa III's for that price

I really like my Qualifiers but they don't last long either. But then none of the performance tires seem to last long for me. My stock BTO15's are just about to hit 2K miles and are almost done. I did do a couple track days on them and to my surprise, these 15's take quite a beating and still perform well.

I bought some from the same vendor during a previous, similar sale.

Tires were aweful, lasted no time and the rear actually warped after a trip to the Dragon.

I know these are probably the bottom quality that Perelli offers but I have never bought that brand again.

Saw the sale, researched the tire and discovered they are old technology (2003 I believe) and not suitable for a Busa. I'm sure Cycle Gear has a lot of these tires to move since nobody wants these outdated rubbers, hence the big sale.

If your a highway guy and ride more conservative then it's likely worth the price, but not for my riding. Tires are one area I won't go cheap on, it can be the difference between staying on or off the road.

Currently I have the Q's and just picked up a rear from Cycle Gear for $143.00 + $20 install OTD.

what the....? These are not HIGHWAY tires, for more conservative riders. I've run them on my Busa for a few years and they work just fine on it. They've stuck better than most until RECENT tire developments, like the Qualifier. They heat up and stick faster than ANY street tire I've tried. [i've tried about 8 kinds so far] They worked great on roads AND many a Trackday... where the Michelin PPs let go and give up. I don't know how anyone could say they are awful tires unless you got one bad tire from the bunch. The multiple sets I've had have been flawless all the way down to the cords.

If you want a tire to last like a TOURING tire, get a touring tire. If you want some cheap, good tires, these are great. I'm not ordering them because I'm trying the new Pirelli Rosso when my M3's wear out.

I ran out a couple of sets out on my 05 busa and they were great. Good stick, good handling as well as high speed stability. I was happy with them. Great price at Cycle gear as well!

My point is that I would consider these if I rode more highway miles and more conservative than how I or others currently ride, which is just the opposite, because I personally wouldn't trust them as much "in comparison" to Q's, PP-2CT or Corsa III w/the latest tire tech.

I never said "awful" tires, just older technology compared to what's available now and if you ride hard in the turns like some do I would recommend only using the best of what's currently available w/ your life and a $10,000+ bike on the line.

I searched and read a few reviews from moto mags and they give the Diablos pretty good reviews (no raving) and most of those were from when the Diablo debuted in 2003 when it was the latest greatest back then.  Again, I'm not going to let $50+ every 3-4,000 miles prevent me from getting the best tires available.  But if I rode higway/conservative, yes, I would jump on them because they are a deal right now and if you ride like that maybe you could get 5,000+ miles.  Definitely cheaper than something like the Michelin Pilot Road 2 where a rear alone goes for $200+.

ah I get it. I thought you were saying they were touring like.
