I was looking threw the forum for a topic specific to what I am looking for. But came up short, I came close with a couple of threads. But they still weren't what I am asking about.

Ive been talking to a local shop around here, that can get me a turbo installed and setup, dyno'd out, and everything. For like 6,000$. Now that will take me from 154'ish HP (stock) to about 240 HP.

Or I can do a diffrent setup, with exaust, bored out, PC3, airbox mod, all the other du dads and do dod's. For about 3,200$. Or 2,800$. Now thats including labor. But with the 3,200 or 2,800 kit I will only be getting my HP up to about 186. So you can see the diffrence in HP. My question was this. Is there another way to get 200HP+ out of your bike without spending over 6,000$? Or might as well go all out and bore the motor and throw a turbo on it. Speaking in General here, cause Im sure a couple other members on the forum have a question similar to this. Ive spent some time reading on this forum, so please give me some support on this. Thank you, always helpful forum members.
 
I've been reading about the SC kits and they sound promising. And I take it your not into Nitrous? Nitrous lets you keep the motor sane for street use and WILD for track (or other than daily driving) use. And with a turbo woudn't you want the bottom end forged with lower compression anyway? I haven't done the research for Turbo Busa's, but turbo's like lower compression, so that might add more to your estimate for the turbo.

V8, you can get get your head totally ported and polished, with new custom ground cams for about $2500. You are gonna need a full exhaust system and a PC3 to go along with it though. That will run you about $1000 at least too. This setup will produce about 205 at the rear wheel. Add a dry 40 shot for about $400 more and youre looking at almost 250 horsepower for around $4500 installed. If you already have a pipe and pc3, you can knock a grand off of this price.
 
good headwork / cams / valve springs /13:1 slugs / smal box mod / Brock's pipe / PC3 and a good tuner will net you +/- 200HP....add a dry shot for the xtra.

do NOT for get to upgrade the clutch springs and CSS or you will be repair more than riding.

the nice thing about the turbo ...is that nothing really needs to come apart motor wise to get better results.

check out carpenter race engines. $4200 will get you about 240rwhp, that is the kit i am saving my pennies for right now. I would rather have a built motor than a turbo any day.

If you want to see what riding a 200+ hp busa is like get a NX dry shot for $279 and throw it on, you should be right at 200rwhp with a otherwise stock bike. It may end up being enough for you or it will let you know you need more. Good luck...
 
Carpenter head,and cams will get you over 200hp and for under 6 g's by a bunch!
 
If you change valves out and put in a stage ! Yoshi cams you should be close to 200 hp. Then throw a 40 shot dry hot on it .

How will changing out the valves increase the power?

New cams for added power not valves...if you have the heads reworked, then you will see even more HP from the combination of cams + head work

200 HP with only Yosh Stage 1 cams?
I wanna put my bike on that dyno!
I bet I could pick up 15-20 hp without doing any additional mods.

though i'd rather have the reliability of a pump gas low boost turbo motor making 250ish HP.

Where can you find Carpenter Race engines? 240 RWHP sounds nice for $4200.
Anywhere in Canada (Toronto GTA) this could be done? Any reliabiliy issues with these kits? Last thing I would want is to do this mode and always have the bike in the shop with problems and not be able to ride.

IF YOU WANT THE TURBO GET IT, JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE IT INSTALLED AND TUNED RIGHT, BY A REPUTABLE TUNER. AND YOU WILL BE OK
