All my life I have never believed in God, I got christened when I was five, been to Sunday school because my parents sent me never been to church. The thing is I see people with problems on the org who ask for prayers I've sent a couple of replies with prayers sent but felt guilty because I don't believe don't get me wrong I sent the messages with all my heart but it didn't seem right somehow so I've stopped doing it.
But let me tell you a story when my dog BEAR died of an eating disorder, she was only two, it was on Feb 25th 2009 on my birthday in fact, I was so upset, my girlfriend who had taken her to the vet did not tell me her condition was live shortening until she had died to spare me the pain of knowing, I love my animals I love all animals, well the next day I was eating a bag of crisps, this sounds really weird, I got a crisp which looked like a BEARS head it was round with two ears two holes for eyes a hole for a nose and a hole for a mouth I shouted for my girlfriend and she came in from the kitchen and saw it but just then one of my other dogs Max jumped up and snatched it out of my hand and ate it, now I've always said I would believe in God if only I got a sign that he was there, was this it saying my BEAR was OK or a coincidence or what since that day I've believed in something I just don't know what. I would be grateful for anybodies thoughts on this. Was it a sign from God I just don't know and I'm very confused. Thanks Dave.

Can't help you with that one. I believe in God. I haven't always. In my teens and 20s I thought God and religion were a joke that fools fell for and the universe and our existence was based solely on math and science. Am I now one of the fools, maybe. The moment of discovery that God exists was the best moment of my life. Your questions can only be answered by you. If you open your heart, answers will be revealed.

Interesting. There is usually a time in a mans life when he questions his faith. Not everyone believes in God and thats ok. We are all different. Dont feel bad about offering up prayers in a thread if you dont mean it. Instead, offer "best wishes" or something of the like. Ultimately we can not tell you if it was sign or not. You will have decide for yourself it was a sign, how you believe in your faith, and what is meant to be. God bless. :beerchug:

He's there alright, I saw his face in a pizza they were selling on e-bay , I'd had a few beers but it really did look like him.

I believe God always listens and answers our prayers. We just have to listen for HIS answers not our own. The following is a fable, but it hits on the point about having faith and listening for God's answers. ((hugs))

The rain fell, the waters rose, and the river overflowed it's banks. Homes flooded and families began to evacuate. One man stopped at his neighbors house to offer aid. "Neighbor," he cried, "the waters are rising! Bring your family into my truck and I will take you to safety."

"No," replied his neighbor, "I will not go, for I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and He shall protect me and my family."

The rain still fell and the waters still rose. Soon the man and his family had to go to the second floor of the house to escape the water. An Emergency Rescue crew found the family, and said "The waters still rise. Get into our boat and we will take you to safety."

"No," said the man, "My faith is strong! God shall protect me and my family and we shall come to no harm."

The rain would not stop. The waters rushed higher. As the man and his family clung to the roof of their house a helicopter rescue team flew over and dropped them a ladder. Again the man refused. "I do not fear! I believe in God, and he shall protect us. We will not go."

The entire family drowned.

The man, who, in life, had been a goodly man, found himself before God. "God!" the man sobbed, "I believed in you, and trusted you to protect me and my family. How could you just let us die like that? Why did you not save us?"

And God replied: "I sent a truck, a boat, and a helicopter - what exactly were you waiting for?"

I like the story, But wouldnt it have been easier if he wouldnt have allowed the flood in the first place.

God is there all the time. It comes down to if we want Him in our life or not. Life is about relationships; with our friends, with our families, with total strangers, but ultimately, with our God. We just have to reach out to Him, He's waiting for you to make that choice. My mother was my Sunday school teacher and I gave my life to Christ when I was 12. After 24 years of drug and alcohol abuse, I was in a jail cell and asked God for help. That was 7 1/2 years ago and my life has Changed for the better. God is good, he gave man the knowledge and skills to make Hayabusas! I couldn't have owned a bike like that if I was still using, I would just be a pile of bloodied aluminum and plastic. Sorry about your dog, hope this helps.

Ditto: MRS Busawhipped and to add we all seem to put GOD in our box. what we believe , what we think and think we know... ( including myself ) But I always try to open my eyes to all that around us and what we dont know..200 years ago life was totally different . With the new inventions and new ideas yet GOD stays the same and we as a people grow its up to us to grow closer to GOD or grow apart . The things of this world can get us distracted.. Just search for God , He's there.. I bought a video lately called" The living Matrix " WOW .. This helped me . It shows things about this physical world thats not usually taught ,..Yet its there . . I guess what I am trying to say is : I know and believe in GOD yet I dont want to put God in a box and limit what I believe due to my stupidity.. Everytime I take a breath I thank God for it !! The other day I was having a bad day - I bought a used Busa a while back & really got taken . Everything I touch on the bike has something wrong with it . I've put an extra 2K in the bike that wasnt planned ( out of the wrong came some good . The bike is getting to be real nice and I've learned to work on it).. The same day, I was working on the house and it was being a Pain in th A** .. , I am totally overwhelmed with stuff to do B4 going back to work overseas..,I also had to deal with a customer that was slightly mental , It all made for a bad day ( YET ) IT wasnt , I'm alive , breathing is Good, what doesnt kill me makes me stronger , Yeehaaa bring on somemore.. I can handle it.. Its all about attitude.. SOOO if you really search You will find the truth .. I wish you the best !!

Thanks for the replies everyone, it seems like I've got to sort this out for myself and I don't know where to start. Thanks Dave.

God does exist and I have seen miracles. When people try to tell me different, I advise them they are too late. Too many miracles already seen. Everything I am is because God has allowed me to live through stupid young years..........

+1, if you keep genuinly seeking GOD, you will find Him.

Im not sure if I believe or not, but its like they say and this rings true as a long day to me, there are No aethiests in fox holes. I was in a very near fatal car accident in 1994, and I really think it was a miracle i survived. I prayed, I prayed a lot. A couple times in ICU I prayed to die. I think god is someone who is like an old friend, you call him when you need to talk to someone and you know he'll listen to what you have to say. I dont believe in fire and brimstone and burning in hell for an eternity if you eat beef on friday during lent, but I do believe in god as a spiritual being. I dont feel I need to go to church every sunday and throw 10 bucks in the plate, or go to church and practice being ceremonial. The god I pray to is the god of my understanding and no one elses. I gotta say I personally think organized religion is a hoax, that doesnt mean I dont believe though in my own way.
