Got out on a local track yesterday, on the Busa, for my first time~ Never been on a track before, but the track bug is on me now and plan on doing it again as much as I can afford to~ I know I've got a lot to learn, but I still had a blast~
There was just a few of us out there and had the whole track to ourselves for the whole day~ It was a free for all, as one of the guys new the owner and got us hooked up~ It's a small track, only a mile long, with some very tight corners~ We was mostly runing 1st and 2nd... with an occasional 3rd gear on the straights~ I was out there with two R6s (one set up for track only) and an '04 ZX10~ They all have track experience, but I held my own none the less~
Here's a few pics...

Very nice, Greg! Wish I could get out to the track one of these days! I'd settle for just one lap around! Or would I? Thanks for the pics!

Dude.... Your in some deep poop Now!!!!   What?  You couldn't hook me up?  Do I smell funny?

Sorry Bro... it was an invitation only kinda deal~ The track is not really set up for sportbikes~ The owner just wanted to see if we liked it as such and then he may set it up proper~ Said if he does he'd prolly charge like 500$ for up to 10 peeps for a day~ That's only 50$ a person... and it's much closer then having to go all the way to Jennings, getting a hotel, and the track fees~ If he goes through with it, I'll give ya call for the next round~

Looked like a hell of a good time. I just signed up for a day's tracktime outside of Pittsburgh. It's a formal thing with 3 groups selected according to skill/experience. I've run road courses in a sports car but not on a motorcycle, so I'll be conservative and go in the novice group. Past experience tells me that track time, even when approached cautiously, definitely does not suck.

That's cool.. Our local track will not let you ride without full leathers (which I agree with). I wouldn't doubt that this guy implements that rule later on.

Looks like you guys had fun, nonetheless!

Thanks ya'll... it was a good time~ Very nice day for it too~ I got a bit of a sun burn while on pit row~
I'm sure if the owner ends up opening it to the sportbikes, he will impliment such rules, Haywood~ I need to invest in some good riding leathers if I'm gonna keep going back for more~ Never had a need for 'em until now~ I'm sure he'll prolly make us set the bike up proper for track also~ It was a good experience, none the less, and I was real happy with how the Busa dealt with it~ I've still got about an 1/8" of chicken strips though~

Sorry guys... my host site only allows me so much space for hosting pics... so once I think the thread has died, I tend to purge my pics to make room for more...

Hmm looks like you need a good host for your pics. Yhea you guessed it Hayabusa.org.

Sweet I hope he allows sport bikes on a regular basis in the future, as i will be in clearwater by the start of October.

I wanna take my CBr 600 to the track so bad but being a collage student i dont really want pay 150 bucks for it. I need to get my some leathers for sure though all i got is Mesh.

Even if the track is only a mile long it seems much better then go to jennings or West palm beach thats 200 some miles away.

Is their any info on this track on the net?

That it does.. I won, in a raffle, a free track day at Jennings GP~ It's good for a year, so I've got time to get the bike setup before hittin a real track~ Few more odds and ends and I'll be out there!
I think everyone should experience a track day at least once~ I'm not out to get my race card or anything like that... but a day spent on the track with your bike is a bonding time like no other~ You really learn your limits and those of the bike as well~

Yeah, you may also notice that none of the light are taped up either~ The pics is from a track that is not meant for sportbikes~ It's basically for pocket bikes and cart racing~ Very small (only a mile) and very tight~ The owner happens to be good friends with one of the peeps I ride with~ He gave it to us for the day, just to see if we thought it would be good for sportbikes before he puts the extra money into it to properly set it up as so~ There was only 4 of us out there and nobody was really going full tilt boogie~ It was a ride at your own risk kinda thing~
I just took advantage of the free track for a day offer to get a feel of what it's like~ Had never been on a track before~ When I hit Jennings, it will be a whole different ball game~ Things will be taped, wired, and I'll be in full leathers..
