Power commander free upgrade (accel pump)

Just so you know, a great free upgrade for anyone with a power commander (www.powercommander.com) (IIIUSB to be specific) is the "Accellerator Pump" Feature.

Download it, enable it, then in your main programming program set it to whatever you wish. The default is way off, so you're going to have to redo your code.

I'm running (testing - not necessarily recommending):

85% sensitivity
16% fuel increase
21 engine revolutions

so you'll get a small squirt for the duration of 21 total RPMs ..... as this was pointed out to me earlier this year... it's pretty much a useless function....novelty at best.

say you are cruising in 6th at 8000RPMs.....you gun it past the 85% position....you will then get a 21% fuel increase for a total of 0.1575 seconds ( a little longer than it takes to blink twice).

even at 3000RPMs....you would only get more fuel for 0.42 seconds.

I haven't tried it on my Busa. It does work well on my VTX for the initial throttle slap off of the line. Gets me a small wheelie whereas without it, it won't. You gotta dial the fuel level down quite a bit on the VTX. I'm at 11 percent fuel gain for 15 revolutions. I don't know that the Busa would benefit. I'll try it one of these days and get back to you.

I found that when I turned in on (default) setting and revved the bike on the stand, it just blew fuel smoke. I shut it off, it stopped blowing fuel.

I can't give a definitive answer on this one... The Busa makes so much power as it is that a few little tweaks here and there aren't really measurable by me here.

My personal opinion is that it does make a small difference. Whacking WFO (under load, not free spinning) it does _appear_ to have a bigger kick. The front end seems to loft more on its own now as well.

Try it for yourself! I think the only way we can answer this one is with an onboard computer, doing mid-speed roll-on, measured tests.

I use this function, along with a G-pack. I have my unit set to:

90% sensitivity
15% fuel increase
20 engine revolutions

You could set it for 100 engine revolutions if you wanted along with a higher increase in fuel. It is a ride and tune program. Throttle response is much faster. With velocity stacks, small air box mod and BMC race filter, lots of extra air. The minor increase in fuel seems to really help out on the quick throttle twist. Seems to work very well with my custom map. I like it.
