I am getting a Hindle full system this weekend, with a Power com., and would like to know

Will I .........NEED a custom map,or will my bike just run better with one ?

or...should I just go to the web site and get a map from there ?

someone that woks at the place I'm going to(dealer)said he just had his Busa's....ECU flashed ?

IS ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THIS ? IS IT A GOOD IDEA ?

He said that you really only need a Power Com. if you want to change maps from like, track , to street, and a P.C. is kinda over kill for me ? But when I called to schedule my appt. the guy on the phone from service said"you can flash it but it will run like total s##t"!!!

any help would be thankfull !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the time being you can run the generic map off the Dynojet Site and it will work fine. However it is always better to run a custom map that is built for your bike. If I were you I would PM Johnny Cheese and corispond with him that way or give him a call he posted his number just for this reason.

THE CHEESE THING WAS JUST KIND OF A JOKE

I was just wondering what most of you guys were doing ?
I know alot of people are running the Power Commander's.

Understand.. Most guys run a generic map until they can afford a custom map that is taylored for their Mod's and Pipe. Like I said though give the Cheese man a call I am sure he will give you low down on what is best for you to do Bro.

Custom map=dyno time.

Download a map for your specific mods, that should work pretty well. I'm running a downloaded map on my 99 gixxer for my mods and it works very well.

I can't comment on programming your factory ecu except that you will not be able to change it yourself if you do other mods in the future. I like the ability to tune it myself, which is why I prefer the power commander. (same goes for my 5.0, but thats another story)

If your getting the Brock Hindle, maps are included with purchase. Go to the dynojet site. You should be able to find a map for your mods. I installed my Brock Hindle and used their map. good enough for now. Will Dyno later this fall. Good luck...

I'm buying it used. 4 months old, for $500.00

they want $600.00 for P.C. and map...does this sound way high to you guys ?

The dealer offered me the LCD pc when I got my bike for $325. So yea, that sounds high for the PC. Maps were free do download last time I tuned a bike.

(dadofthree @ Jun. 14 2007,04:10) $600.00 for map and pc sounds high.
$450 would be a closer rate in the Dallas area.

$250 ish for a PCIII (they vary so that ish can be up to 25 bucks each way).

$200 for the map.

I wouldn't go over $500 personally.

HEY,

I was on another site, and everyone talks about a guy doing these maps for your bike without you bike, and say how great they are ? How is it possible to custom map your bike without it being put on the Dyno ?

They say tell him what you have done, and where you live, and he'll sell you a map ?

wouldn't this be the same thing as going to the dynojet site, and looking for the mods you have done, and use that map ? for free ?

Well, if they are doing it anywhere near right, then there is a bike on the dyno with those exact mods claimed in each custom map. Its just not YOUR bike, but the same model. The only thing that they cannot compensate for is the build tolerances between bikes. Make sense?

Ps:I can help you with the tuning/install of mods if you like. Pm me if your interested, I'll give my phone number and we can discuss options.

Go to the brock site. They are clearing out Gen II systems for not much more than you are paying for used. No clarance issues with my pipe. I just dont like the belly wing.

A JC map in comparison to one you can download from PowerCommander is like comparing a Zippo lighter to a Bic

Bought my PCIII off of Ebay.
Having it tuned with the Yama guys here that know me and my bike.
So maybe I got a friend discount...

Plus $70 dollars extra from a board sponsor who is known in the community as a good tuner for this specific bike? Sure, I'd pay it. But for Joe Smith down the road? Nopes. $500 would still be my limits.
