Looking to order new tires for my 06 busa on monday, im real close to going with power pures but ready some posts i have read they seem a bit slippery when hot? Any feed back or opinions? options ? what do u guys think?

Thanks

even thinking of just going with the pilot power 2ct cant go wrong with them, just not to sure about the pure powers to many mixed reviews ,

I put pilot pure 2ct on my 2011 busa at 1800 miles and have 8700 miles on her now and tires still look great. She handles way better than the stock tires. I have not complaints.

The main thing about tires is to be honest about how you ride. Then buy tires that offer the features you need.

Pilot Pure gets slippery when hot if their pressures are too high. Under correct pressure they don't slip easily. Their sidewalls are a bit on the soft side for a heavy bike like the busa - they will flex at hard cornering that will make it seem like they are slipping. The rear will not give high mileage. Fact is they are more than good enough for an average rider. 2CT is a waste if you rarely use that part of the tire - if your existing set are not worn on the sides, or have chicken strips, then you don't need 2CT.

food for thought,,, called michelin and they recomended the pure power for the hayabusa,,,,,so dont think the thin sidewall would be a concern

If you are an occasional twisty guy the 2ct's or the pures will serve your purpose just fine. I am with Sixpack on this one, I much prefer the Q2 over either of the michelins. You'll never overheat any of these tires on the street so I wouldn't worry about "Slippery when Hot"! If you take you playtime to the track where you can really generate serious heat in a tire your choice in tires will become more critical.

I used to run pures and loved them, ran em at the track and on the street... I run Q2's now...

I have had shinko, ct2's and power pures. I didn't care much for the power pures, the ct2's lasted me 13,000miles. I'm using Q2's now.

Let me make a new suggestion:

If you are looking mostly for mileage and still want grip for a little play time now and then, many of us use a performance tire on the front and a matched dual compound touring tire for the rear. Since the rear always wears out faster than the front it allows the set to ware fairly evenly. I have this combo on my busa and it works quite well. I have a Bridgestone BTO16 front and BTO23 rear. You could also use the Dunlop Q2 front and Dunlop Roadsmart II rear (which I actually prefer)

With this combination you get to keep a performance tire on the control point of your busa while retaining extended mileage from the rear which has softer rubber with better grip on the edges for knee dragging fun when you desire.

You'll find a number of members running this combination.

well i decided to go with the ole faithful pilot power 2ct's to much up and down talk about wear on the Q2 and to much stuff w air pressure and sidewall thickness on the pures,,,thanks for all the input guys.
