Prayer request for a pilots family

I normally don’t post personal stuff too much...

Don’t usually ask anything of anyone.. not even prayers.. figure God knows what I need, no need for me to ask anything for myself...

Normally when something is going on with someone else I just pray for them myself..

Sitting here reading the board I felt a burden to post this and ask for prayers.. if I received this burden on my heart then I figure God has a reason for it...

so here is the situation...

This week, on our base a 25 year old Marine student pilot 1st Lt. Brian Deforge of Plattsburgh, N.Y., flying an FA-18 Hornet over near Monteray flying over Hunter Liggett airspace

Had a mid air with the instructor pilot.

The instructor pilot ejected and sustained minor injuries.

The 25 year old Marine Student pilot did not make it..

He left behind a wife and two small children. I believe I heard one of the children is a new born baby.

Memorial services will be held this Friday on base.

Its the business... it is always sad when your brothers die in combat, in training, in anyway. but it is the business at hand and it is a risk accepted by all...

What always gets me is the family left behind.. my heart cant help but break to think of a young wife and the children having to deal with this..

Some deal with it well, some not so well.. most suppress everything until all the immediate required arrangements have been dealt with. And then in their own private moments, after everything has been done, after the kids are asleep, and when they are alone.. this is when the wives usually break down.. by themselves.. with no one to comfort them.. this is when they need prayers, this is when they need to feel God holding them tight..

My request from all of you that pray is to pray for the family.. for the children, for the wife.. for comfort, for strength and that people would be put in their paths to help out as needed.. and then for what other prayers might be on your heart.

Here is a link to the local news article...

In case the article vanishes let me know and I will have it saved on my computer and I can post it up...

Thanks everyone...

Ron -
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. It almost seems like it is easier to deal with losing someone in combat that it is to loose someone in training. I have been involved in aviation since coming in and I had seen some bad things and the havock that is wrought on families left behind. Interestingly, I was born in the old Air Force hospital in Plattsburgh -

Semper Fidelis Lieutenant Deforge. Rest easy sir. You are relieved; we have the watch.

In the Navy we have a 3 Bell ceremony to honor those of us that have gone on. So I echo Shawn:

Lt Deforge, Sir, we have the watch. May the Lord and those that have gone before you guide you on your journey and give your family the strength they need. Amen

I feel for the family. Thanks for letting us know. - K

So sorry to hear about this. The family having to bear the burden is the worst part. My prayers go out to the family.

It's difficult to see anyone perish, it's tragic when they are young. We never know how much time on earth our path warrants but when God needs us, He takes us. This leaves voids in our family and friend's hearts but from the wise mouth of my late mother, death is not the worst thing...
RIP my brother and may your family find the strength to carry on with their mission.
Prayers Sent...

Very Sad.. My thoughts and prayers are going out to him and his family.
