Pre Busa bikes

Guys, I'm sure this topic has come up before, but for the benefit of new members ( which includes me

) I'd like to find out :

1. What bikes did you own before getting Busa?

2. What did make you go the Busa way?

For me:
1. -Aprillia 125RS ( my first sportbike, had it for 1year)
-Honda CBR 400RR ( the one they have in Europe and Asia, also 1year)
- Honda CBR 929RR ( 3years)
- Suzuki Hayabusa ( present....)

2. I was looking for something with more juice, but at the same time comfortable.... I do pillion from time to time, so that was a factor too. Nowadays, sportbikes are not really meant to pillion, and I myself did not like to do that, although occasionaly would have to .....) Also, I would go for a longer trip from time to time ( Singapore to Thailand- about once a year or so.... which would mean 10 hrs plus minus depending on riding speed.....)
I have it for about 2months now ( put 2.500km) and 'm really loving it....
It is very different from pure bred sportbike but you got to love it...power, tourque, comfort...
The great thing about this bike, I feel, is that you can ride it in a very relaxed maner as well as howling a** if need be...

faraz,

how goes and how is life in Singapore? I was there a couple months ago for business. Near Orchid--Nice place and good jaiozi as well (dumplings).

As for bikes:
katana 750
gpz750 turbo
and before that a host of smaller street and motocross bikes

I chose the busa cuz i like the styling, wanted to ride 2-up, and wanted a sportbike. The busa was the men among boys so-to-speak.

Now that I have it, my choice couldn't of been better. It fits my needs perfectly.

I've had several bikes but the move to the 'busa was preceeded by a '97 zx11. I've always liked sportbikes and my idea of a nice ride is about 200-300 miles...most sportbikes can make that a challenge. The zx11 and now the 'busa makes that a lovely stroll in the park...and if I get the need
to mix it up a bit...the 'busa will respond will everything I want and more. It's a wonderful combination of speed, power and comfort that I believe is unmatched...
Ride safe

Yamaha DT-250
Yamaha RD400F Daytona Speical
Suzuki   HayaBusa '04 SE

Went with the Busa cause it felt good. The R1/999R was a close second and 3rd was a RC51...

Next will prob be the following

Possibly a Ducati 999R

OR

'05 or '06 HayaBusa (which ever year is the
                       new changes are done on)
Harley in '06-'07(Softail or Dyna Glide)
Custom Chopper in '07-'09

Yup getting seriously back into it...

01 Honda RC51

96 Honda Hornet 250

99 Hayabusa

00 Hayabusa

Will keep the 00 forever, just a couple of more mods, and I am finished.
Got into the busa, cuz

1 I am 6ft 4in, 235lbs. It fits like no other sportbike.
2 I like to take the wife with me on rides, couldn't do that well on the RC51 at all...
3 It goes LUDICRUOUS speed with ease.
4 It is the best looking bike I have ever seen, was jealous when I was riding the Hondas
5 I honestly believe there are more modifications available for the Busa than any other sportbike. You can customize it like the Harley boys do their toys. And I love to personalize my rides.
6 I was impress by how well the bike handles considering its size/weight while coming from an RC51.

Next bike will prolly be a GSXR750 when I get stationed next to a track. I am done riding on the street like its a track, gonna kill myself if I keep it up.

thanks for all replies..... (keep 'em comming, no wonder everyone here shows alot of maturity, it reflects when looking through your rides...

Snake,
The usual route from SG to TH is via Malaysia....
There is a main highway that runs all the way through MY to TH.
So far I went there twice, both times to South of TH ( about 100km into TH after MY border ( city Hapchai ). It is very cheap when converting SG dollar to TH bat, so it is very popular destination .....

I have been thinking about ferrying the Busa over your way to take such a trip some time in the next couple of years. I hear the exchange rate is really good to the dollar, so it is fairly inexpensive to vacation there.

In order of appearence

84' GSX1100
80' Katana 1100
85' Z1300 (6cyl)
97' CBR900RR
98' Blackbird
99' KDX650
84' CBX750
01' Blackbird
03' Hayabusa

Saw the Busa, love at first sight.
Rode the Busa, had to buy one.

Still have to say that Honda seems to have the best finish/build quality. But wouldn't swap the busa for anything at the moment.
