That isn't a strange an idea as it sounds. I rode my bike for a whole year all over Europe, from Northern Ireland to Southern Italy, and from Spain to Austria, putting in 50K miles, and then, a few days before coming back, a friend offers me to buy my GS1150, he even pitched in that I could borrow it free of charge whenever I came to visit. I declined, but it seemed like it could be done easily (this friend was in Belgium). I guess an adventurous type could buy a new one here, fly it over, ride it for a while and sell it back without loosing much money.

Hey, better: group buy. We get half a dozen Busa at end of season price, make a deal with a transporter, make arrangements with a European mechanic for first check-up, ride for a few weeks, and sell them before coming back. A good intineray would be to land at Schiphol airport, spend a day or two in Amsterdam (just to get it out of the system), then head (fast, no tickets) to Munich, go twistin in Austria and Switzerland, continue on south and zip along Tuscany and the Italian coast, ferry up Sicily, Sardegna, then enter French territory in Corsica, ferry on to Marseilles, then up to Paris where we sell the bikes and come back home. Two weeks. Who's in?
