Hey, all...
While the event is still a full month away (10-12OCT08), I have to give it up for the boys putting together the WI/Midwest Meet & Greet.
Initially, when I saw BigDiesel shoutin' out that there was going to be a gathering there, I thought..."hey, I need to tell the home-boys that I wish them the best." So, I did.
Well, after very little coaxing and a few well-placed 'teasers', I found myself checking flights to the Midwest to participate in this 'busa 'family reunion'. I'll be like the black sheep, even though I have no problem with the blacks. (<--there's seriously a joke in there; some of you will get it.)
So, I booked my flights today...Kevin (firedog5800) is going to retreive me Friday night from the airport and return me there on Monday afternoon. And we're going to ride ALL WEEKEND...the whole fam damily.
You might be thinking 'big whoop', right? Well, in addition to all that (read: but that's not all!), he's offered to let me pilot his 'busa for the weekend (o.k. after he offered that, there was absolutely NO reason to not go).
"Holy crap,", I think to myself now, having not lived in Wisconsin for nearly 25 years..."this is amazing!" ...but it's not; really, it's just how they roll... another day in the land of 'winter will be right back'.
A lot of you wouldn't open the thread regarding a ride in an area you don't normally have much to do with, but hopefully you'll take a minute to help me recognize and publicly appreciate the up-front generosity of these guys (none of whom I've ever met).
For the rest of the Wisconsin/Illinois/Indiana/Ohio bunch...I cannot wait to get there to ride with you guys...
To hang out with you all for the weekend is going to be one of this year's highlights for me.
