question about tire

hi to all just question about tire, last couple week i got puncture in my rear tire. i put the plug in and been riding for couple week now, should i change to the new tire or just keep riding. any safety should i concern about? it still had 60 to 70% on the tread left. any comment or suggestion? thank in advance. this site is best i learn a lot from it

It is up to you what you do but I would Ride it just don't do allot of high speed runs and it should be OK.

Most everyone on here will tell you to trash the tire and buy a new one. If all you have is an externally applied plug, take it out. Not only the fact that they leak, they have a tendency of working themselves loose and falling out all together. I work at a tire store and once used a patch-plug that is glued on the inside of the tire, it held just fine. I would say replace it. Good luck.

Replace it. Safety should always be first. I have plugged tires on my Maxima, but even in the M3 (low profiles) I replace flats. Is your life worth a little more than $200? Mine is.

thank all you guy for reply, i think i will replace soon. when you riding a fast bike kind the hard to stay at low speed. that my 02.

I've done this many times to many tires. Just keep it below about 120 and you should be fine.

In the middle of the tread, a hole not a cut, a rope plug will work fine for running to close to wear bars! Carvin up the canyons or a dragon slayer, Hi speed runner, it will be on your mind allways! I don't give it a second thought anymore I've done it so many times.

Not making any recommendations, I've done far worse than plug a tire.

I plug them when on the road but pull tire and patch on the inside at first chance. If the tires old I'll replace but if fairly new I try to get my use out of it.
