Question for the Ipod users

my dad's job has sales meetings one weekend every year. during this time they have contests and such in which you can win certain prizes. anyways my dad ended up winning an Ipod and $325 worth of iTunes music cards. he "regifted" it all to me for xmas. im not complaining, hell, im lucky i got anything at all

well my question is how do i know if the cards have been activated or not. im mostly sure they are but i want to be 100% sure.

i scrachted the stuff off the back of one of the cards and entered the number on the iTunes website and it says
"an account is required to redeem a gift certificate or prepaid card"
and then asks for you to sign in or create an account. i dont want to create an account and post up my credit card info just to find out if the card has been activated. would the fact that it asks you to sign in mean that the card number has been activated? im about 99% sure it does because on the sign in page, instead of an "enter button" it has a "redeem button." i just wanted to run it buy someone who knows for a fact because i dont need the cards and was planning on ebaying them to help with the bills or if anyone here wants to buy them, let me know and ill donate a little for the org.

are you sure you have to give your cc info to create an account?

yep....i hit the create account tab and you start the first page creating a username and password then the second page ask for your cc info. i clicked the enter tab without filling in any info and it reminds you that you forgot to fill in the required fields

Somewhere in the middle it tells you how to do it with out a credit card.

I didn't have to enter my CC info to redeem the gift cards.
