Is the engine of the GSXR 1000 the same head or block with 1300?
I have a Busa and a 1000 Gixxer. At a distance they may look similar. But they are brothers from different mothers... As Mr Brown said. No and no again. Is the engine of the GSXR 1000 the same head or block with 1300?
Popie -- how about the engine mount (near the top of the head) is the 1000 the same location as the 1300??I have a Busa and a 1000 Gixxer. At a distance they may look similar. But they are brothers from different mothers... As Mr Brown said. No and no again.
Aaaaha!!Popie -- how about the engine mount (near the top of the head) is the 1000 the same location as the 1300??
I want to do one but I've heard it's not as easy as one would think. I think they say the old srads are the best to start with? I cant sell an engine so I thought it might be worth the gimmickAaaaha!!
I know what you are thinking . . . you wanna fit a Busa motor to a GSXR1000 chassis . .
right??
Good luck . . .
Here's a Gixxer thou with a Busa motor . .

To be honest without peeling plastic off I can not answer that...Popie -- how about the engine mount (near the top of the head) is the 1000 the same location as the 1300??
Lee Shierts did the one I posted.Lee Tomlinson did that one but he ended up doing a bunch of fab work. Ill bet that hes done quite a few prolly
Way too much what? The only thing significantly bigger about the Busa motor is torque output. Which you're gonna need in your application. It's not much physically bigger, doesn't weigh much more, and they make roughly the same hp, depending on what 1k you use.well, I've been doing a reverse trike, I'm afraid my 1300cc way too much and flex my chassis. I was just thinking to go down to 750cc or 1000cc but my chassis motor mount was already set. I was asking if the 1000 the same motor mount location like the 1300.

I miss my srad . I think the one @B.Eskedal d.i.d has a big bore busa engine in itIt has been done, but it's not a direct bolt in.View attachment 1620370

Lee Shierts builds the ultimate "sleeper": a Suzuki GSX-R600 powered by a 218-horsepower Hayabusa motor that runs eight-second quarter-miles.www.cycleworld.com
i WORRIED that it might overpower my chassis and flex it during hard acceleration.Way too much what? The only thing significantly bigger about the Busa motor is torque output. It'll only do what you tell it to do. If you're worried about frame flex, gusset the frame or don't whack the throttle....i WORRIED that it might overpower my chassis and flex it during hard acceleration.
I think 750cc is ideal but I already have the busa engine. I guess I have to experience it and see how it works
