I just got back from a 12,000 miles two up trip to Alaska on my KTM 950. I had a lot of time to think about things. One of the things that kept goin through my pea brain is, "If we can ride all this way on this oversized dirt bike, why do I have an FJR in the garage for touring."

So the first thing I did when I got back was start lookin for lighter, better handling, options that would be more fun for me

I never thought of a Busa until I read about the Pashnit Busa. I got my wife on the back of one at the showroom and she liked it. She only 4' 11" and if I can get the bars up high enough and a bigger screen I'm in.

The first question I have is about the stator....does it produce enough extra juice for two Widder vest and a set of electric gloves plus a few other extras (150 watts)

Can you put both the Heli bars and the spacers together to add 3 inches to the bar height?

If you take it easy can you get 220 miles from a tank of gas?

I saw plenty of gizmos to lower the pegs....should not be an issue.

Last....Any idea when the 08's will be out?

?(Though you can get some great deals on 07's)

I've seen plenty of options for bags......

Yes, a set of 3/4" spacers and the heli bars fit with a little line re-routing. Not sure about the juice you need for your accessories. I have never seen 200 miles on one tank, but I ride it like I stole it. Oh yeah, Welcome. Now how about some pics of your bikes!

taking it easy I can get 47-52 mpg. Putting an 18 tooth sprocket will get you closer to your target.

yes you can use the spacers with helibars. You may have to go to aftermaket cables. They are tight with a 1 1/4" spacer only. Depending on the windscreen, they may hit and requiresome modding to the screen.


I'd have to search some specs on the stator. You can save about 20 watts by going to an HID headlight. (an upgrade I reccommend anyhow) I found someone who was building a stator with more capcity when I was looking heated gear, Stock should provide enough power for rider, but I'm not sure if it would pull the passenger as well.


the 08s should start hitting the shops in the next few weeks

Welcome to the Board; it be nice to ride to the FROZEN PARADICE that is Alaska. I have some 2" Helibar spacers for the Busa in the garage, N.I.B. give me an offer I can't refuse!

I can get 220 out of a tank of I don't get on it, but who does that on a Busa?
Any stock bike these days can handle a couple vests and heated grips./gloves
HID headlight as mentioned before saves a few watts.
It appears, you travel "heavy", so I would recommend getting some special Stator attention and an extra battery kit for it.
Wire everything into a key on only hot wire and it should be no problem.
Corbin makes a sweet backrest rear seat for it too.
The Busa is a Jack of all trades.
