Quick help with soapys 1" risers please

Ok so I've got the top plate off and sure enough, there is not enough slack in the front brake line or clutch cable to slide the riser in... Sorry if this is a repeat question but I searched pretty extensively before posting.

The clutch side seems like it might be easier but on the brake side it looks like there's some slack in the line below the fairing but will there be enough after I pull some of it through for negative travel of the front fork? (fork extending further than it sits when at rest). Also, in peering down the brake line, there seems to be a clip that holds the hose in place right where the hose exits the fairing that will be very difficult to unhook. Everything I found on here says this is an easy install so I hope I'm just missing something easy. If anyone knows of a thread on here with detailed instructions for freeing up brake line/clutch line slack on either a riser or helibar install - that would work too.

Thanks

I have them on my 09 and all oem lines are fine.

Gen 2 - quick reply guys! It looks like i might be able to get to the screw that holds the clip in place from the top side but once it's off, the clip is just going to be dangling there. I feel like I should re-secure it once I have the risers installed - another issue with this - there is an insulating/impact cover that covers the hose above where it attaches to the fork down by the caliper and runs up to this clip. After feeding more line through I dont see how this clip will fit on the larger diameter hose. Is it OK to leave the cable hanging freely down through the fairing or so I need to secure it somehow?

I wouldn't leave it dangling if for no other reason than peace of mind.
I didn't have to change anything to install mine.

I removed the throttle cable bracket off of the frame on my gen2, it'll give you more slack. You can see the bolt head back in the frame with the bracket removed in the picture.

Sounds good. Clutch cable and front brake line were the worst but I may take the bracket off as well. I was thinking of adding helibars as well probably next spring but I don't see how you could possibly use the stock cables with the additional lift... Also, my levers touch the upper fairing when the bars are cocked all the way to one side.

I have .75" risers with heli-bars, and stock length lines and it works fine. Combined, the two are a great improvement. Your clutch and brake cylinders need to be turned on the bars, or slid left or right for them to clear.
As long as they only barely touch at full bar turn too, it's really not an issue.:beerchug:

The instructions use to detail cable route change on the Gen I. I didn't do it and managed. Make sure you check lock left to see if the front brake operates.

Cocked the levers down a smidge and eliminated the clearance issues. Lock to lock no touching. Good stuff! A big improvement in comfort for sure.
