I have a Joe Rocket "Alter Ego" jacket. How do you wash those. They aren't machine washable.

May be a dumb question, but i've got the right group to ask right in front of me. MIGHT AS WELL!

Thanx everyone!

The only dumb question is the one that is not asked!

Note the dry cleaners can clean leather jackets also!
I've even had them treat my helmet!

THANKS GIXERHP !!

That is very good info.. I have used a damp sponge on the helmet forever, and it never gets back to that nice clean fabric smell. I started shooting a little Febreze in it every once in awhile and that helps !!!!

Another note! Buy an Arai RX series, the complete liner is removeable, and washable! But pricey!

You can also wear it in the shower
whistling.gif
. Wash it with light dishwashing soap and a tooth brush for those nasty bug splats
bluegrab.gif
. That's what First Gear advises. Of course if you have an S.O around, it's alot more FUN

For helmets, you can toss a bounce sheet in there after a ride and it will be fresh the next time you wear it.

I wash mine in a slopsink with a bit of laundry soap and cold water... hang to dry.

(we're talking the regular mesh jackets right?)

I always just wore mine and went through the automatic car wash so I could wash it and the busa at the same time...

You go through without clothes on also? How do you keep the hot wax for burning? I could never figure that one out.

The Joe Rocket Hayabusa Jacket is extremely difficult. If I'm not mistaken, you cannot wash it, nor can you dry-clean it.

It's a beeeeyotch; but it's hot.

I've machined washed my alter ego many times with no problems.

Just use the gentle cycle, remove the armor and outer shell/liner.

I have that exact jacket, I've washed it three times with no problems. Just depad it -elbows,shoulders and back, put aside, remember how the pads come out so to put back. Jacket, liner and outer panel separately but together in same load, warm, gentle, just a little! soap, don't worry about sewn in foam padding, hang dry! peace of cake. Zero problems with zippers, seams, etc. Enjoy.
