some people use car oil in their bikes, and CAR oil isnt obviously designed for m/c and their wet clutches!?!?!!?

from what i hear part of it is made with cardboard which dissintigrates and peices of the cardboard get into you engine = bad....
the smooth shifitng is bec of the oil...nothing to do with the filter.
i would remove the filter and use like i said either an oem or a k&n.
but thats just mho....its your bike bro.

+1 on that, but its your bike and the K&N is like $12 buck and much easier to install.

The lowdown on the fram filter is that it is not capable of filtering the oil at the gpm necessary for the Busa. Therefore the oil goes through the bypass and returns to the engine unfiltered. Someone did a real in depth study a few months back. I just gave you the cliff notes version. Get the OEM filter and throw the fram in the garbage. Then again..it's your motor

SPEEDEMON is correct! And like others said, it's your bike! But why chance ruining a high performance engine just to save a few bucks? Go with OEM!!! I wouldn't even use a FRAM in my car even if they were free!

fram is one of the best selling filters on the market, why? Because its one of the cheapest made filters on the market. Humans just don't get it sometimes. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Jeez, don't use Fram for any engine you really care about.  You'll be doing a ring job in the next 20,000 miles or so.

how many miles on the bike?

how many miles on the bike the oil + filter change?

whats your driving style?

i would not reuse the oil if it came out of the engine case (outside environment).. it will get contaminated. even if you dont see it.. contimination is bad (remember we are talking about super high temps here).. however if you can some how figure out how to keep the oil from coming out while you
change filters... no problem..

if the oil is still fresh.. you can probably salvage some of it.. some of it will leak.. but you should be able to keep some if in there while doing the change..

my opinion.. if you really feel bad all the extra work and dont want to change the oil filter.. you might be able to get way doing some cruising...3000 rpm highway driving..

good luck

I wouldn't use a Fram in a '74 Pinto. Back in high school auto-shop class (around 1985) the teacher cut open a Fram just to show us what a piece of sh!t they are. Compare it to a real filter like an AC Delco or Napa Gold and the difference was amazing.

As far as using "car" oil in a motorcycle...manual states to use SF or SG API rated oil and nothing about using "motorcycle only" oil.
Does your bottle of Amsoil have an API crescent seal on it with the SF or SG rating?

Last I checked only XLT, XLF and PCO had the API certification...maybe things have changed? I'd really like know, but everytime I ask I never get a straight answer from anyone.
All of Amsoil's hype and clever wording won't do any good when your bike is at the dealer with a failed engine and you show them receipts for an oil without API CERTIFICATION. Oil may not have had anything to do with the problem but you just gave them a loop hole to void your warranty...on a major repair Suzuki will do anything they can to get out of it.
Furthermore something isn't right when a company will go out of their way to use clever wording to cover up the fact their product doesn't have a certification. "Recommended for SG use" or "Performance specifications include: API SG..." doesn't cut it.

so nobody uses fram filters on here and doesnt have a problem with it....i really dont wanna do another $40 oil change....im not in love with fram here or anything but no fram guys out there? ill just wait till next oil change......2500 miles...or so
