Quick Stand tested in MC

That looks like the same siren that came with my scorpio alarm!
I read about one guy who has the screamer and he said that above 100MPH with the siren pointing right at him he couldn't hear it well enough.
What's the deal?
$99 is a lot of coin if it's not going to be effective above 100mph where we really need it!

...would you send me a Sceamer and mounting set up, and a Quick Stand? We can work out the other asspects we discused later, if we can...I like the current location you have come up with for it...email me the price and conditions and I will send payment...

Highpwr,
How does the piezo beeper mount and how/where does the interface module mount? Getting a Valentine/Remote audio and I'm looking at the screamer.

The guy the said he couldn't hear his siren above 100 mph forgot to mention that he has never purchased a Radar Screamer. Another person stated that he could not hear his alarm system siren while at speed. Usually alarm sirens are buried under the body work for security reasons. So I would have to agree with him, if you mount your siren where it's covered up by the seat, body panels, the frame, etc. you are not going to hear it very well above high speed road noise.

The instructions for the Radar Screamer suggest that the piezo beeper be mounted on the top triple clamp or adjacent location. Somewhere close to the rider where it's not covered up. This makes a world of difference in the results. There are a lot of other vairables when making comparisons including the specs for the siren (both intensity and frequency), the drive circuit, blah, blah, blah....

The big diffenece between the Radar Screamer and what those other guys were comparing it to is that the Radar Screamer actually works. It's in use by Busa riders today that are very happy with the results.

Lee,
The kit presently includes 2 pieces of velcro for mounting the piezo beeper. It is not a very heavy device and the velcro should provide a secure hold. One place to mount the beeper is the top of the triple clamp for the best sound. Another choice to mount the beeper is by attaching it to the plastic panel directly below and to the left of the tachometer. Two small 4-40 screws with nuts may be a better choice for attachment to the panel. I will start to include the screws with the kit and the purchaser can decide for himself where he would like to mount it. You can see a sample of the beeper installed on the fairing inner panel at:

The interface module gets mounted by tie wrapping it into the wiring harness below the upper tripple clamp. It is a small device and comes with a tie-wrap anchor attached.

Hapo, Your order will ship Monday AM. Based on your request and the request of others your Radar Screamer will have a new feature. The silence switch now has three positions; full volume, low volume and OFF. Let me know how this works out for you.

Highpwr,
Thanks for the answers. I have an extra phone/power jack from my Valentine. Why can't I use that to power the piezo speaker directly and run a speaker out jack from the remote audio for the valentine directly to the piezo speaker? That would eliminate the need for the interface module and the speaker would be hard wired directly to my battery with input from the remote audio from my Valentine?

Lee, The interface module is an important part of the Screamer design and is one of the reasons why it works so good. One of my other customers tried your suggestion before he purchased the Screamer and did not get very good results... his experiment resulted in low volume and erratic operation of the piezo beeper. After his experiment, he purchased a Screamer & he's been extremely satisfied with it's performance. His comments are on the Screamer website under NickB.
