Quiet Slip-ons

I recently read in Cycle World (jan 2000) that Yoshimura Zyclone (standard baffles) are the quietest slip-ons available. Do you know how louder they are (# of dB), how this pair of cans is weighting and how many HP they are adding? Thanks a lot!!

I've heard they are not any louder than the stock pipes, and power maybe 1-2 more than stock. You are basically paying for better looks.

I've got a set on my bike, sound better than stock. I like the look of the two pipes. Did not have to remap, bike runs excellent. My pals Yosh 4-1 is only slightly louder in the higher rev range.

Guys,
thanks for your answers.

Anguish,
did you weighted the slip-ons before you installed them? (and if yes, what was the weight for both cans?). Did your bike have been dynoed before and after the cans replacement?
Finally, how is your bike feeling as Cycle World wrote that Yoshimura told them that the injection system can't compensate, even with the standard baffles? Just curious... Thanks again!

Claude, you aren't going to save much weight with slip ons, no matter what the brand. That's because the stock cans are surprisingly light. It's the rest of the exhaust system that is heavy. Likewise you won't get a huge power increase regardless, because of the restrictive collector just forward of the cans.

I went with the Two Bros. slip ons in single filament CF. They have the best sound I've ever heard on a Busa, and everyone who has heard them says the same thing. DEEP tone, but not loud. Unique look and beautifully made, also. The weight savings was only about 4 lb., and those who have run them on a dyno report a gain of 3 or 4 hp.
