for all that saw me at seattle int. race way. you know i can hang with the best.

so here is the problem. i got my blue busa back to street duty after a great weekend of racing. i was on my way to wendy's for lunch when i was "T" boned by someone in a car.
no broken bones just alittle road rash and a f..... up ankle. my poor busa was in the middle of the street in 2nd gear running at full throttle with the rev. limiter poping. the oil was leaking all over from the hole in the left side of the motor. it ran until the oil was goin and it locked up.

i am one hurting unit. the 1st call i made was to the dealer to hold another busa for me and then i called the insurence company. to get the ball rolling.
mom was not happy that i didn't call her 1st. but hay were talking about a busa here.

lookes like i will have another one in about 2 weeks, and i plan on buying my old one and fixing it for racing only. thats is i can fis the hole in the lower part of the motor. getting the motor freed up is no problem i have done that enough in the past. ( i'm a mechanic )

if i don't have one ready for spokane than i plan on corner working.

still alive and kicking.. hangman

Hangman, glad to read you are ok. Sucks about your Blue. I'm really sorry that it happened. Best of luck with the new one.

A moment of silence for a fallen 'Busa please!

Thank you!

Hangman,
Glad to hear you're mostly OK. Side impacts can be a ***** .
BTW--The 'busa has a tip-over switch, yours should've cut the ignition long before seizing. Maybe you can get some cash from Suzuki for the malfunction. Worth a try.

I'm singing the blues for your dearly departed blue busa. That part about "hay we're talking about a busa here." started me rolling. Talk about dedication!! You make us all proud hangman!!! I hope there was no permanent injury to yourself and I hope that you're back to the track in no time.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Hangman, but BusaGeek is right: what about the TipOverSensor that should've cut ignition when bike more than 43 degrees from vertical, did you make that inoperable or remove it??

If not, better let your dealer report it to Suzuki and see what happens, as engine should not have seized with TOS working OK (not that in this case it makes a LOT of difference I guess)?

OOPS, sorry, missed the newer separate thread you opened about this, but TipOverSensor should be on all BUSA's worldwide as far as I know!

Hangman, my condolences go out to you and your dearly departed blue.

Glad to hear that you are alright.

As far as the Tip Over Sensor, it could have been damaged by the impact of the crash. I highly doubt that anything will come about it from Suzuki.

Hope you can resurrect it for your race bike tho'...

the person that hit me was trying to go across a main road. they had a stop sign and i was on the main road with no stop sign. the car tryied to get across the road in front of me and a car that was turning left. as soon as if passed the car turning left i became a new pontiac hood ornament.

i just go back from picking up my old busa from the inpound. the lower part of the motor has a 1x2 inch hole in it.
i have a good size cut on my left hand . i was wearing my good race gloves. they looked like a knife cut them. what it was was the clutch lever broke off and went threw my glove and into my hand. everything on the left side of the bike is f...... even the radiator which is still full is bent back
muffler ripped off at the collector fairing still on the bike but has yellow on it from the center line of the road.

i will find out tomorrow if the motor still turns over . i have to bypass the clutch safty because all thats left is some wires and a hydr. line.

i'll fix this on up for the track and get another one for the road. got one orderd today.and yes it will be blue too.
