Radar Detectors

Does anyone know anything about this radar detector?  http://www.beldirect.co.uk/bel966r_mb.htm

I commute to work on my bike every day and it is 30 miles of straight open highway.  Hard to keep it under 100 sometimes.  Wondering if it is worth the investment, but I have never really thought radar detectors are practical on a bike.  THis one looks like it might be good.  I read alot of reviews and alot of people like the Valentine 1 and the Silo 2, but those aren't made for motorcycles.

Comments welcome

I went to radio shack and got there brand made by cobra. Its a four to five mile only ,cost $100. It has saved me a lot of tickets I have had a few different brands and none have been any better then the other one. The difference was their effective range get the 4-5 mile. I would suggest get one that is battery powered. They are alot easier to deal with when you want to put it up in your back compartment. Get one of the smaller ones unless you have a aftermarket windsheild. Battery powered ones are more expensive.

I got the PASSPORT 8500 x50. It is great. And it has a earphone jack so if you have a chatterbox it plugs right in. I wouldn't buy any other detector. Any detector will work on a bike . On the busa just use a stem stand and your set. You can use the double stem stand for detector and GPS.

Based upon all the reviews I read recently, I am picking up the Escort 8500 X50. My luck won't hold out forever.

I got an older cordless Bel 945i and have been pleased with it. I use rechargeable AA batteries (w/spares in the hump storage), and I like the suction mount above the gauges. I don't care for hardwired/stemmed rigs though they would be more durable for the long haul.
