Could just be an oil circulation problem. Your valvetrain depends on good oil flow to function silently. If the components (lifters) are not charging up quickly enough that would explain the rattling noise.
Do you recall what ambient temperatures have been prevalent during your rattling startup problem? Do you store it outside? If it is chilly and you are using thick oil, this may be the entire problem. When cold, the oil will not be pumped quickly enough through the engine's various oil passages. Once it warms up and thus has a lower viscosity (thinner consistency) it will circulate and everything quiets down.
It's bloody cold this time of the year around Warwickshire anyway. How do you cope?

If my Busa isn't started for a few of weeks, the motor makes some vatvetrain noise due to a lack of lubrication.

Presumably you've had the camchain tensioner upgrade?

Otherwise, check your oil level, or switch to lower viscosity/synthetic?

Synthetic......Synthetic......Synthetic......

Have an 05 with rattle on start up. Ambient temp doesn't matter, once she hits operating temp. it goes away. Have 1800 miles, changed oil at 600 and 1500. started soon after this change. I'm using Suzuki 10-40 until next change, then thinking full syn.. Noise is definately in the top of engine. Really would like some input/advise please.
Thanks in advance.

ive always been told you cant run a full syn with a wet clutch because it could make it slip
