Rattle

Ok, I'm taking my farings off this weekend to look around and I'd like to see if anyone has comments where my rattle may be. Only when it's cold do I hear it and only when I hit a small bump or the lines in the concreate roads. After it's warmed up I don't hear it. It appears to be in the front...maybe something close to the motor or radiator I'm thinking and after it heats up and expands it stops.

Good question, I'll look at that too when the farings come off tonight or tomorrow.

Pulled it apart and could not find anything...only other thing I can think of is the plastic...after it gets hot it quits...screw it it only last until I'm warmed up anyway.

why not run it without the plastics and take a look around when it's cold + idling?

edit: my bad...you seem to have to hit a bump to hear the rattle.

still, give it a shot + let the bike go naked around the block to see if it goes away....

I have heard this same thing on my busa while cold and without helmet just riding it down the street after a wash, I never thought about it till ur post cuz like you say otherwise you never hear it.

Mine was were the pin goes in on the lowers, just under the headlight, the ones that u can see if you look down beside the gauges. You might want to check the screen also.
