I'm currently in the process of transplanting a '99 Busa front-end onto an older bike. I'm looking for some information in regards to the speedo drive, as it is obviously not taken off the front wheel. Thanks in advance and my apologies if I've posted in the wrong area.

if you are looking at the front wheel for a speedo drive then yes you have it in the wrong area.

It's taken off the clutch then, and is electronic?

Actually the speedo and odometer are taken from the countershaft, you can see it attached to the front sprocket cover. If you remove the one allen bolt and pull the piece outward it will disconnect your speedo and odometer.....

After those two post I would buy a service manual before working o that or anyones bike.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the speedo drive location.

As I mentioned before, I'm installing the front-end only onto an older motorcycle ('79 CBX) and was simply curious about the setup since all I have in my possession is the front-end itself. Pointless to purchase a tech manual for a bike I don't have. My goal is to find an alternative way to drive my manual speedometer which at this point seems to be one of the gps-driven models on the market.

Thanks again.
