Re-Mapping/Power Commander?

I have a 07 Busa and my question is do I need to re-map or buy/install a power commander if I just install two racing cans (Yoshimura bolt-ons)?

Welcome, the search tab is a wonderful thing!

You can install just the cans, however you lose back pressure and a little of performance. A power commander will fix all these issues, from just installing the cans!

You might be surprised what your A/F mixture looks like if you don't do something to moderate it. By increasing the flow of air without adding fuel it could lead to a dangerously lean condition in the engine. This is only the second bike I have had with FI, all of the others required a considerable amount of tinkering with the slide cuts, needle heights/sizes, idle jets and main jets to get to correct A/F mixture. This meant taking the bike out on the road and doing shut downs at various speeds from mid throttle to full and then pulling the spark plugs to check for color. I swear I have every size idle jet and main jet made for Mikuni carbs. With FI the only way to do it with something like a Power Commander and dyno is well worth the cost. Just my humble opinion.

Save your $75 next time and buy the PC. Plenty of Busa buddies that share maps for the same mods.

if all you want is slip-ons then just do that. You'll be fine. Eventualy you'll probably start doing more things/tweeks and at that point it'll be time for a power commander or whichever system you go with.

Majority here will tell you that a PC is a good thing, as will I. But if your just doing slip-ons its not needed. You will probably get some popping or backfiring on deceleration due to unburnt fuel burning in the exhaust but the "marble mod" or pair valve mod will fix that. IMO PC is the way to go cause you can change your fuel ratios when ever you want. Any other way and your paying to get your ECU remaped every time you want a change.

true u pay but if you change one bike 4 times just to equal the 300 for a pc thre something wrong buy a bike do what you want to it exhaust air box mod whatever just remember new buyers spent all there money on the bike lol so 75 at first is either the cheapest way for time being and save up for a pc and run it how it is till you have enough to make major mods on engine but i telling u i new here and by reading alot and talking to my local dealers and also my uncles friend from sportrider pc is useless unless you are like a unruley woman that cant make up there mind and change your bike alot i know just a stupid newbie opinon but i think it smart not everyone here had a crap load of money i knwo i dont and the 300 for a pc is silly now pay 75 i seen a guy on here will charge 25 and if you make more then 4 different mods at 4 different times then it worth buying ok sorry for rant lol

OR YOU CAN PAY 229.00 FOR THE PC3 USB ( 3 changes @ 75 each + the 4 dollars in gas you spend riding to the dealership) and remap between race and street maps in your garage, anytime you want and without having to worry about future map issues.

Just my 2 cents

oh true i hear that but i just saying if your not going to race bike and your just a guy that wants a busa to ride on street and just do one big mod like pipes and thast it the pc is useless waste of money now if you to from road to track all the time or mod bike every 4 months then yeah get one

and also the guys first post was if you just add cans 75 or 300 ? sorry guys i know i aggrivating but i poor lil man and think cheap lol

The Suzuki dealer near me wanted to charge me about $200. They claim they dont have a map for my Yosh bolt-ons. They would have to map it and dyno it to get it perfect. We know they're lying. So I walked out and will just save for a Commander to correct my little stuttering at 1500 rpm.
