This isn't particularly my thing, but you have to respect what these guys do. Very impressive!

a guy i went to college with took his basically stock zx10 to the strip and had never been at the strip and ran 10.8 the first run and had it down into 10.3s by the end of the first day he the next weekend he had it down into the 9.90s. He had a reputable racer approach him and talk to him asking where he learned to launch so well and he told him youtube and the track pro laughed and called bull**** and he told him no seriously i learned from youtube so the guy put him on his bike which was 9.1 consistant and personal best of 8.80s and first run he ran 9.20 and by the end of the day he ran a 8.89. The racer then called him on wed and said "can you be at the track thursday ive got a couple bikes i want you to try out"... he said of course. We showed up at the track for it to be closed and was met at the gate by the guy and he let us in... we get into the dragstrip and theres a drag team training a up and comer and they meet us and we sit down and talk and they tell him they want to try him out on a couple bikes first being an extremely stretched turbo'd busa which ran 9 flat all day and he hit 9 flat by the 3rd run. Next bike was a fully modified custom built drag bike that they were training the up an comer on it ran 8.50s all day ... took a couple runs but he jumped from 8.6 to the next run being a 8.39 which shocked the team that he accomplished it... They sent him on several more runs and he was 8.50s and below consistantly and so as the day was drawing to a close he was coming back from the end of a run and saw a new bike in the pits and as he got off of the bike the actual team racer was getting on the bike and they called him over and walked him through everything as the racer was prepping and he was just like this is awesome to get to watch... The guy ran the bike down the track running mid 7s and as he came back around they told him to get ready it was his turn.. the look of pure fear and excitement ran across his face. They got him on the bike and set him up for his burnout... he did the burnout and after rolling out of it he sticks his hands up like omg im scared.. they get him off of the bike and hes white as a ghost they get him calmed down and back on the bike... They tell him to launch and let off and roll the rest of the way down and he does as hes told and runs the track. He gets back and they set him up to run again after a cool down and safety check they get him ready to go again and they said this time we want you to launch and run 2/3 of the track ... he runs his burnount and prepares to run the tree all of a sudden he gives a thumbs up .. up comes the throttle ... lights run and wham hes gone... going.. going... and as everyone expects him to let off he keeps on and winds up running a 7.25. He gets back and the coach asks what happened to letting off and he said "my ahole was so far up my throat i just wanted to get this over with" and we all broke down laughing. He later said that it was all about hitting the button at the right time when the tree dropped and then just holding on for dear life.

Moral of the story these bikes are so amazing and they do all the work for you that it comes down to just holding on and doing everything you can not to hit the wall. He was offered a chance to start racing for the team but when he talked to his fiance about it she refused... she was about 2 months away from having their first baby and she was afraid that something would happen to him.. Last i heard he was in texas working at a bike shop and working on their drag team.

Sorry for the long ramble on story but it was an amazing experience
