I always remove/loosen the brake calipers and let them hang down so its easier to get to... Then I use a C-clamp or large screw driver to gently spread the old brake pads apart. You have to remove both the (1) clips, the (2) small rods, and the (3) metal brake linings to re-use for the new installation. Just pay attention to how everything is positioned so you can re-install in the same manor. It'll all make sence once you take it apart....
The (1) clips actually go under the metal rods (2) Sometimes re-installing them gets a little tricky! If you run into anything post up, I doubt you'll have any trouble once you tear into it! Just be sure and spread the old brake pads.... Makes putting the assy back on the bike SO much easier.
If you are using a C-clamp to push the piston back in, make sure you place aflat piece of wood over it and then compress with the clamp. This will provide even pressure over the entire piston and will keep it from getting crooked on the way in.
As a word of advice, I would stay with the stock pads for the rear. Changed mine out before to something better and they were horrible unless I was racing and had them hot as hell.
