Hey Guys , whats it take to remove the rear fairing?? Anything special to watch out for , So that I dont break anything..? I will be doing some painting and ned to remove it..... How long should it take? Thanks for the help.PR

Well, to remove the tail, you have the metal fasteners, the frankenstien bolts, the plastic pop rivets in the undertail, the small bridgeacross the fairing under the seat and you'll need to disconnect your taillight assembly... should take 20 minutes, but *****
You also need to either remove the locking cable or remove the whole lock to tak off the tail... I recommend you remove the entire lock, that way there is no possibility of you putting on the hump with out reconnecting the cable... if you don't want to pull the two screws for the lock itself, them at least cover the lock with ducttape so that you will get a warning when you try to put the hump bck on without the cable...

Just my .02 The tail isn't hard to remove at all...

Thanks MC, I am try'in to get my Bike ready for the fall Bash this year ( since I could'nt make the last one....

+1 on just taking the screws out of the lock and taking the whole thing off. There is no way you can do a "No-No" that way.

The black plastic things in the tiedown bolts just pop out with a fingernail. The big phillips screws under the hump come out with absolutly no pain if you use an impact screwdriver.

Everything that's been said and be careful putting it back on. You can crack the reflector if you're not careful. Ignore this warning if you're changing undertails. What typically gets everyone are the plastic inserts in the franky bolts. Remove them and you expose the allen bolt.

The first time I removed the rear tailsection it took me 30 minutes. Now i can do it dang near blindfolded in 5. The plastic rivets are removed by using a small allen wrench ( you'll have one out already) and pressing the center in 1/4 inch until you hear or feel a click. they can then be removed with your fingernails. Remove those 6 plastic rivets first. Take out the two stainless fairing bolts that are at your knees when riding. Take off the seat by removing the two allen head bolts and lifting it up in the front and towards the instrument cluster. You'll see two plastic rivets holding the right and left sides of the tailsection together right below where the crack of your azz usually is. Remove them and pull out the patch piece. Grab your wrench and take out the 4 bolts holding on the grab rail. Using your allen wrench remove the two frankenstein bolts that go thru the tailsection behind your hips. Grab your phillips screwdriver and take out the two screws inside the rubber grommets holding the tailsection down right above the frankenstein bolts. I simply remove the cable from the puller. You can take it all out if you desire. Gently pull the tailsection apart up and back off of the frame work. If you are taking it off completely you can separate the wires as you need.
It took me longer to type it than it does to do it

lol did just this when I put my tail section back on after puttinging in my screens..
I was in the process of putting my tail section back on after installing screens. I got the tail section on and was bolting it up when I heard pop and out of the corner of my eye I seen a red object come shooting out of my bike.

What is the function of the hole cover over the right hole of the rear fairing? I'm installing screens. Is that cover necessary, or can i leave it off?

I did the same thing when installing Tom's screens and just glued it back on. I can tell, but nobody else can.

I felt there was a reason for it or Zuki wouldn't have wasted the effort or money. I reinstalled mine.

The opening on the clutch side is for grabbing the frame when placing bike on rear stand. Oh well, I still installed the screens and haven't had any issues with my Redline stands.
