Rear shock gen 3

I'm looking to put some gold out back, but it seems nobody is offering a rear shock for the 22',in fact nothing past the 20' model year. Does anyone know if the gen 2 and gen 3 rear shocks are the same? I can't seem to find anything on it ‍

That would be awesome, what is the turnaround time for something like that

Jamie Daugherty's schedule varies so you must check when he can take it. Also who knows what the shipping delays are today. However here is my personal experience with this vendor during normal (non-COVID) times: I filled out the configuration form and scheduled the rebuild via e-mail or whatever the instructions say. I shipped my VFR shock and fork. With ground shipping there, a couple days for the rebuild, and ground shipping back, I think the total time from ship to receive was seven days. I was stunned at the whole experience, including the ride quality and reasonable pricing.

That sounds good... As cool as ohlins looks if I could save money with the same results that's a score... The only question I'd have is if it's a longer lead time than 2-3 weeks I'd consider buying a used shock off ebay for 2-300 and sending that in for the work so I have no down time.

There are always trade-offs so nothing is dead even. But a very large percentage of performance improvement comes from the fact that no tuning goes into the OEM suspension. Properly springing it for the rider and valving it for the particular riding conditions provides a massive performance improvement. Past this improvement is a fuzzy area where maybe the race suspension has a more precise or linear adjustment, helping say with small condition changes on the track. The Ohlins does save some weight. On the negative the race systems require more frequent maintenance intervals and sometimes require more effort for such.

Is the fork stock? Send it at the same time if you can. Our gen 2 forks are downright mushy but admittedly I do not know how your gen 3 is performing.
