Gen 1 (2006 LE) I'm not a canyon carver...yet. Mostly long trips, try to stay away from a lot of the back country roads. Too many fellow riders getting hit by trucks or cars.
The stock gearing is 17/40...if you were a canyon carver I would say use 17/43. Just stick with the 17/40 and a steel rear sprocket will give you the best bang for the $$$...they are less expensive than aluminum and they last longer too

Good advice, and if your existing set has any miles on it at all, it's smart to change out front/rear/chain at once. Also, keep it clean and lube it at least every 500 miles! Raydog
Thanks guys. You have confirmed this is the best site PERIOD. I'm glad to be a part of it. Thanks for all the advice, as I am new to the sportbike.Have been riding a Road King for 11 years. Good thing I bought the Road King first, if I had purchased the Busa first..........there would not be a Road King. Busa's put the thrill back, can't wait till the weather gets better and out for a ride down the coast. Thanks again for all the advice. Bill Cheers
