Rear Wheel, possible problem! Need Help

I lowside, highsided my bike about three weeks ago.. Low speed corner.... Nothing more than cosmetic damage.

Yesterday while riding in slow traffic, I noticed that when I applied my rear brake, there was a steady pulsing feeling coming from the brake.

Today, while on the centerstand, I put it in first gear, it seemed to be moving rough, sometimes you could hear a slap coming from the chain area... Am I over reacting? Is this normal?

Help me please!

I went into a turn too hot and lost it... First lowside, then it threw me off and highsided itself onto the other side. It was about a 25km fall.

The feel from the brake, trying to explain this....... pulse, smooth, pulse...

As for the slap, comes from the area around the chain near the front......

Yeah and the cows get me everytime... f.u.c.k.i.n.g prairies....lol

Sounds like you bent the rear disc have you checked the run out.
Mine got bent and was doing very much the same as you described pulsing on and of I would get it checked.

Bruce...... I am thinking that maybe, it is damaged pads, rotor or both.... and maybe the rear wheel is out of alignment..... I will have to take it in, it is getting beyond my level of knowledge....

Thanks

Check your chain for tight spots.Put it up on the stand and check the chain all the way around.Mine did the same thing,at 2000 miles chain was shot! I'm religous with chain maintnance too.Check it out.

Excellent replies gang... Thanks you all. I dropped my bike off at the dealer, explained the spill I had... He said these bike are almost indestructable... Check the alignment while I was there, ok... Chain ok too! You can almost see a little warp in the rotor, he will run it out and get back to me... Even said he would make sure it is covered under warranty......

I was skeptical at first about the dealer, but they have good techs there!

Pulsing... Probably a bent rotor. You need a machinists guage to check the runout.

Anyone with a shop manual handy? What's the max tolerable runout on a rear rotor?

The slapping is probably a result of the vibration scaused by the rotor.

Also run a string around the front wheel and check the rear wheel alignment.

Were you riding barefoot? S*hit I can't feel anything threw my feet in regards to the rear brake! I'm not sure what it is your hearing when you say slap, where? at the sprocket? further up towards the front along the chain rail guard? Possible pulse, could be if you bent the brake rotor,it will be impossible to tell with the naked eye! but a pulse from your brake is a good indication of that, another possibility could be your rear wheel got knock out of aligment! or your chain is loose! Did you lowside then highside in the same incident, or did we have two separate spills?

Also check your brake pads to see if they got knocked loose in your spill, they may have gotten dislodged from their proper position and aren't seated properly!

And hey you hoser! stop stareing at those F*ucking sheep & cows along side of the road you probably wouldn't be falling down, your giving us Canadians a bad name! or is it your drinking to many Labatts?

hey,
i have a nice rear wheel/tire(battleax is mint) WITH the srocket and rear rotor: $400 shipped...........or buy both(front wheel and tire too) for 650 shipped.
You won't be getting that wobble anymore.

Mechanic confirmed rotor ok, (well, within spec's anyway) but the wheels were out of alignment..... Said the busa can take quite a hit before any serious damage can be done....

Thanks
