Reasons to be cheerfull, part 3....

Okeedokee, newbie here, I am in a bit of a predicamant (sp), do I buy a Bussa or not?? I love the look and have been for a test ride and loved it, (the amount of power doesnt have any bearing on my decision to buy one, Ive already done the kwak versus busa versus B/bird argument), the thing that gives me most concern is reliability.
I do more milage than most, 100 miles round trip to work and back every day, which equates to about 20,000miles a year as I ride in all weathers, (also I hate maintenance/cleaning etc),
I have heard all the 'problems' regarding subframe and cam-tetioners but wanted to get it from the horses mouth, so to speak.
I am planning on getting a new 03 model in Blue/Silver (import version), Im in the UK.
What, if anything, do I need to look out for, be prepared to have fixed etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't like to smile you will definitely need either a chemical wash or a surgery to remove the ear to ear grin that apparently hits as soon as one knows they're gettin' a busa...

Welcome Topjolly! I can't seem to think of anything to tell you as a "what to look for" problem that hasn't already been taken care of. These bikes are pretty tough but it is a machine and machines need maintenance. Take care of that and your bike should last you a pretty long while.

Welcome to the board. Get the Busa you won't regret it. I also ride 100 miles round trip to work and have no complaints. The problems you asked about have all been fixed over the years. They were in the early years of production.

Is it just me?! Or is this "Reasons to be cheerfull, part 3...." thread really pissing you off as well...Yeah I got your Cheer right here mate...

, I figured most of the niggly things would have been sorted by the time the 03 came out. What I was trying to get at is what are the day to day things I need to be aware of, I have read on other threads about regular checking of the throttle sensor thingy?? Its stuff like that that I wanted info on...any help would be well apreciated.
I have 99.99% decided to by the busa anyway, just wanted to make sure I was prepared (used to be a boy scout)
And for those of you wondering what my last bike was.....Blackbird....stands back and waits for abuse to start

Thanks again.

From my experiences it basically depends on the rider as far as problems you will run into if any. I cant recall a common problem on the Busa like the cam tesioner or sub-frame mostly they have been situations that where going to happen based on mileage of their bikes. Just keep up on the routine maint that your manual recommends and if do have any problem your @ the right site for assistance or try some other onez ex. SUZUKIHAYABUSA.ORG,SUPERKAOS.COM OR PSYCOBIKE.COM each of these site have thier own style check'em out for gp (general purpose).
