Posted this someplace else on the board and i think that the DYNO section is more pertanaint but i could use some help...
I'm sitting on an '02 with about 30K miles, and i want it to be faster. All i have right now is the power commander (PC3 i think), -1 +2 sprockets, and small air box mod. I am looking for 210 - 230rwhp that is EXTREMELY reliable! Wondering if i should purchase a lower mile motor to start with or just build up my own. Once or twice a month me and a few of my friends (busas and 14s) do 130-170mph:whistle: for about 2 hours and i need something that will make the ride.
If anyone could give me a basic breakdown of what i need i would appreciate it very much:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
Thanks alot guys

One thing I've heard is change out the stock springs (reliability)...while your there might as well do a little head work~!~

Really? Damn... i was trying to stay away from that. How much do you thin a well built 1397 could put down???
Thanks

Depends on the details, and I'm not a builder, so I can't give you deffinate numbers. The cost of 1397 and 1441 wouldn't be a dramatic difference though. I'de like to think a well built 1397 would make close to or just over 200rwhp, but again, depends on what's done with it, cams/headwork, ect.
You can ballpark losing close to 30hp from the crank to the rear wheel. The cheapest easiest power is obviously already done with your fuel tune and exhaust. Do you have a stock header? An aftermarket one and a good dynotune will wake it up a little more. After that, of course it's gonna get expensive. What's your budget, that's the best place to start.
As far 130 to 170mph, with stock gearing, your Busa should do this fine all day. If it's running good at 30k, I wouln't worry about it. If you've got the cash for a stroker, it's obviously gettin rebuilt anyway.

Damn good info... And as far as the budget goes... I'm still young and therefore horrible at saving:banghead: so a turbo is almost definently out of the question, but a rebuild... 500 here... 750 there 1300 here... thats do-able. and i could just wait until i have everything i need before i take it to the doctor to assemble. (June - July:please:) And about the header, I think I'm really likin that V&H competition exhaust???
So i guess i'm just lookin for a list of what i need to start buying??
You gave me alot of really good info! I'm still brand new to the whole "Let's make it even faster" thing:poke:
Thanks again bro:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

pistons, headwork, and valve train will get you over 210hp on either a 1397 or 1441.

The 230 mark would take more work or be less streetable if you stay all motor.
