i have an 03 with ths basic mods, custom tunned stock ecu by lee at lees performance, would also addin a pc3 help performance or hurt it? ???

you have more flexibility setting the fuel and ignition tables with the power comander but your bike's engine isn't highly modified so it might be expensive to squeeze out a few more HP. Are you satisfied with the way it runs now. Did Lee dyno it before and after the ECU was flashed? Is the thottle smooth?

i have a muzzy full exhaust, air box mod wit factory air filter, pairvalve mod and tre. lee said that he could dyno tune it using the stock ecu and he believes it runs better than me using a pc3 with the map that power command gives us from thier website.

this is not true as a power commander doesn't actually set tables it only fools or tricks the already set tables in the bikes ecu
in other words the bike is still in fact using its ecu maps then the power commander is compensating on that....you can do way more with the re flash....you cant raise your rpm limiter in power commander or turn on.off your hard/soft cuts ect ect....ask smithabusa he will tell you what you should do.....

If you are going to have Lee dyno it, trust him and take his advice!

What did he say about the TRE if he reflashes it?

You guys need to do your homework. Greg Smith of BoostbySmith and David Petrik's software the ECU Editor is the most dynamic, cost efficent way to reflash what you already have and change or edit rev limiters, doing away for the need of a TRE, Use flapper solenoid wiring to control nitrous, just as a window switch. Etc, etc....... Dont believe me check out for yourself, go on Greg's web site and view his interface products and what they can do for you using yor STOCKER ECU. Software is FREE and Greg gives great tutorial help when you buy his product. Wait. You can always buy a PCIII and the HUB, Igntion Module, and all the other boxes Dynajet slinging, and you still hve to use your stock ECU inconjuction with them ummm.

who's david petrik??....i will definately will agree that changing the actual ecu binary is the way to go.

so I think we all agree the editing the ecu is best. Now the problem is since you had Lee do it already and he might not have given you the actual .bin file you'll never know what he did. You can flash over it but you can't capture what's already in the ecu. :poke: This means if you want to change it yo're starting over unless you get the file from him.

if lee did flash the ecu why in the world would you think that you could make it better?spend the money that you would waste on the pc3 and do more mods and have lee re-map it and get more power that way...

Now that greg sells everything you need(including a shiftlight) for a mere $180, I really dont know how anyone could make a conscious decision to go with a PowerCommander. Its inferior in every way EXCEPT for the fact that you can download generic maps for it without having to get a tune. But the more people that share thier maps with the ecueditor, Even that advantage wont be there. And yes...this IS a shameless plug for Greg Smith.:cheerleader: Personally, I think all the PC3 threads should be removed from the forums to keep people with 02-07 busas from wasting money, lol.

why do you specifically point out the 02-07? i put a pc3 on my 01 with a full akra kil, airbox mod, k&n, tre and sprocket and it seems to have helped a lot

ECUEDIT only works with the 02-07 ecu's. 99-01 are 16 bit and have to be swapped out if you want to use it on those bikes.
