Had the shift lever bolt decide to back out leaving the lever to dangle in the breeze during a ride the other day.

Was a last minute decision to ride and No, I didn't do a "pre-flight" inspection. It was all good when I put her away in the fall...
Easy fix (now with threadlocker) but could have been a disaster.

A little preventative maintenance goes a long way!

yeah, it did...

it was an odd feeling going to kick her down 2 gears before entering a corner and getting nothing but air under the left foot.  

It's one of those things that I read about here, and always thought to check before heading out... until yesterday.
