I read somewhere the best way to remove the front signals and change them out for smoked ones

before I attempt this could someone walk me through the procedure of removing the nose cone??? so a 15 min job wont take me 4 hours

or any other easier ways

I saw a write up on this but our search function seems to be amiss

thanks again all

I changed my lenses without removing the entire nose. I just pulled the inners off and went from there.

Pull the entire nose off. It dosent take as long as you think. Will make things easier if the smoked lenses you got done match up perfectly as some dont. Just my 2 cents.

To answer your question... remove to 4 screws that hold on your mirrors. Now while standing in front of the bike, pull outward just a bit on the fairing (both sides)where the mirrors bolt on to clear the little "nubs" where the screws for the mirrors bolt. Now tug the nose with a little bit of force. Nose will just pop off. Outside of the mirror screws, the only thing that really secures the nose on is 2 big plastic barbs which you will see when you get it off.

It would also help to have another person to unplug any wires (if needed) while the other holds the nose......

well nose came of easy.... patience is a virtue

the only bit#h I had was getting the ram air to line up with the screened intakes... once they went in it was snap

smoked lenses look great with my integrated smoked tail light/signal

Glad you got it done, but where are the pics?

Getting the tubes to line up without screwing the screens up is a biotch.

I have found that by loosening up the fastener that holds te ram air tube to the fairing stay, it is much easier to get everything lined up.

I replaced with fully assembled units. You can replace without removing the nose. I took one of them through the rear by removing the inners. The other after trying several ways. It will roll through the front hole of the nose faring.

You can def. replace the blinkers without having to pull the nose, but I think it was a good learning experience for him anyway. I remember the first time I tried it...I had no clue.

i done my lenses and twin light, pulls off ok just when you put it back on make sure the ram air grills are in right possition or they buckle abit
