Repairing/replacing the starter motor

I had the starter motor failure at 5,000 miles on my '00 Hayabusa.
How difficult is to do the repair?
What are the parts needed to do the 2003 upgrade?
Costs?
I am in Panama, Central America.(so no warranty, no recalls)
Thanks,
Alvaro

Well I'm not sure how things work down there, but trying contacting Suzuki Corp and let them know your situation. There is a bullentin out about starter clutch failure on 99-02 Hayabusas. I just had mine replace after going out and Suzuki foot the bill on all my parts, I paid labor $140.00.

When you push the start button you hear some grinding going on .........Like the starter does not fully engage.

The engine runs fine. I push started it and rode it for a while.
It is just when you try to start with the push button that you hear/feel the grinding.
What cam chain recall?
