To All BUSTA masters How in the heck do you replace the Throttle grip? I got the old one off but can't get the new Harri's Grip on over the first ridge/edge. Please Help!

o yea! ran into that problem myself a month ago... Use hairspray and she will slip on and stay on. (Amazing how something so small could make a difference.)

I was able to get my new grips on without shaving the stock notches out. If you didn't buy Suzuki based grips, you may have to file down the notches for the grip and smooth it out before putting the grip on... (You can use lotion just to see if she will slip on or not without getting it stuck.)

This forum link has all my pics of my new grips... (should be some info. in this link on changing the hand grips.)

What kind of grips did you get? (style wise) If they are cruiser grips that don't stretch (don't forget to try the hand lotion), sounds like you may have to make the decision on if you want to start filling down your throttle notches for those grips.

Put the Harris grips on a couple months ago and had to shave the lip off.

Sorry, wish I could but I can't. Someone else may have pics.

I used the same technique as Bowratt and used a box-cutter to cut the tip off. I then used Dawn to moisten the handle and the slide the grip on. Worked well.

You need to shave some on the inside plastic bevel to get it the rest of the way on. I use hairspray. It is lubricant for putting on then gets sticky when it dries for extra grip. The throttle side looks a little funky with the gap on the inside but noone will probably notice but you.

I kept mine as it was, i used hair gel and it slipped on like a bachelor going backdoor on his wedding night.. try something slippery that dries sticky and it will go right on with no problems.. dont waste your time cutting off the first ring, its no big deal. just push.. you drive a busa dont you.. you gotta have some balls.. use them... lol...

ooooooooh  watch that knife. I took off the lip with a dremel tool in about 30 seconds when i installed my throttlemiester.

I just did the grip mod myself.. the dealer told me to cut off the old grips... take some xxxtra hold hair gel and coat the inside of the gips and then slide them right on.. worked like a charm, didnt have to shave or modify one thing... just make sure you wait 10 minutes after you line the grips up so they dont move when you grap on to them, that way they will stay lined up and looking sweet... good luck...
