Okay, well here goes - went down at Barber last weekend. The scooter is a 2005 SV1000S. I am on the lookout for:
Full exhaust system (the Yosh that is on it is done)
Radiator
Gauge cluster
Bodywork

If anyone knows good sources for SV parts, I am on the lookout...!

I was hoping it wouldn't be all that bad... Sorry, man. It looks like you can pick up a radiator on eBay for around $100.

Yes sir, checked there. I was hoping that the midpipe wasn't trashed, but it is twisted, bent and crushed!

Sorry to hear about the get off. What happened (probably missed the post on it)?

I'm glad to hear you didn't get hurt.

Ted, took a short trip off track at Barber; not hurt bad... got lucky, just a concussion and damage to the scoot.... All is well. When are we going to see you again?

What corner?

I keep trying to get free to make it to a bash, but haven't been successful. As the girls get older I have a better opportunity but work has been holding me back just as much. 8(

That can be a pretty quick turn especially coming off the straightaway. Got to love T4 hard acceleration up hill!

Glad to hear not too serious Shawn. I guess it's good to get the crashes out of our systems! It's so much better to go down on the track instead of the street. Make sure you debrief yourself to get a learning "takeaway" from the experience. Gotta extract something meaningful from a get off! Doyle

I'm still trying to figure it out too Shawn...that is at the top of the hill, and you have your lean on - a 'light' spot on the front suspension while in a lean. I've seen people crash there before, ususally a low side, but you didn't have enough speed to break that Q2 loose...UNLESS your front pressure might have been high and it broke just enough to induce that head shake. I caught Georgiabusa's rear at 40 lbs once on Sunday....

Keith,
That is a take away for me. When I get the scoot back (I dropped it off with the only shop besides Wheeler's that I trust. I want them to look at the exhaust to see if anything can be done with it. However, when I get it back, I am going to take the rubber of of both rims (to ensure that there is no damage to the bead) and from now on, I will check the pressure after the first session and before each session after that. I never rechecked my tire pressure after the morning session and the more that I think about it, the more it makes sense that the front started to wash and I somehow avoided going down on track. Lesson learned there!

Sorry to threadjack, but I just had a thought. Have you checked to be sure your left and right fork tubes had equal settings? I know you really want to find the root cause of the shake.

Actually Daniel. no I hadn't. Interesting thought. Though, I hadn't adjusted them since I picked the bike up from Tom and I don't think he messed with them. Odd thing about that though is that she did fine for almost two days... tire wear was very even, seems like I would have felt something before then if there was a miscompare between the tubes. But, that is now on my list to specifically look at!

Daniel might have a point and be on to something, as I still think it's something MORE than just tire pressure. You might consider letting Kenny set your suspension the next time you see him at the track.

Checking your pressure after EACH session is a little overkill. Since you aren't using warmers - set cold 30/30, then AS SOON AS you come off the track while they are still hot after the first session, check and reset to 33 front 31 rear. If you are running novice, they won't really get warmed up until after the cut you loose at lunch, and after that first free session, check them again to 33/31. After that you should be good rest of day.

A pound or two shouldn't make much difference, but 10 could....
