Revzilla Riders's Plus Membership

Recently Revzilla launched a membership based loyalty program. It is $59.99 for a year. From my point of view it is taking some of the feature that were already free and now charging a premium for it. Notable features that are included in the membership.: Free two day shipping and returns, 5% rpm cash back and concierge line with gears and parts experts. I already got this before the membership so i wonder how its going to be now.

I feel like every company is headed towards the paid membership business model and its kind of frustrating. Thoughts on this?

My thoughts are all these exclusively on-line companies have seen the cash cow in the face during the pandemic and the huge on-line shopping boom and they will all start working towards maximizing their profits.

I just read where the companies who make RVs are under the gun because Amazon has bought up all the vans they use for deliveries....and the tip of the iceberg has only been realized.

Not sure if you seen this as well but home depot is running a pilot program where the power tools have to be activated via Bluetooth at checkout. They say its to deter theft but imagine if that led to have a subscription to use your power tools!

I've never seen this...I'd imagine if this were the case, unless each and every other place that sold power tools did this, there'd be crickets at Home Depot as I believe people would not be wanting to go through that.

When I worked at Home Depot for a short time, there were anti-theft strips placed in the boxes of power tools and the anti-theft alarm would sound....we'd sometimes take these strips and put them on shopping carts to get a rise out of the cashiers...

BMW has subscription based items on their vehicle's so basically the car come fully loaded but you pay monthly fees to activate heated seats or nav! Which would be fine if they fixed everything for free as long as you had the subscription.
I think they all have something like that...Sirrus radio, On Star, etc...

Sirus and one-star arent a huge deal but having a fully loaded car and only being allowed to use a few options is just plane stupid, tesla does kinda the same but you pay to unlock more power on their vehicles.
An option is an option in my book....getting a fully loaded vehicle and having to pay for Sirrus or On-Star or other similar options are just as annoying.

A former colleague of mine is a huge BMW car fan but he will only lease them as once the warranty is up they start costing...

I am annoyed and angered from getting pestered to join from retail establishments, cashiers giving me a dirty look if do not have a membership, and Amazon intentionally sitting on orders for a week since I am not a member. Consumers are getting abused from all sides and I am appalled by it.

You identified the pattern: The total cost of shopping goes up with these, and then the higher cost becomes the new normal.

I could potentially join a loyalty program if I plan to do a lot of spending with a retailer, but my initial tendency is to avoid them like a disease.

Hi. I hope The government catch on. They could say {we will not raise taxes] but put a fee on things like walking in to stores like $1.00 each time you go in.
