just trying to get some thoughts on powdercoating the rims on my 04 le red. too much red do you think?
 
Been considering doing the same to my Red/Black'05 but was leaning towards silver powder coat. A friends ZX-14 has red powder coat wheels (white body) which I thought looks very nice, almost a shade between red and maroon.
Not trying to hijack this thread, what is the going rate for powder coating wheels as chrome seems exorbitant, $500-700, don't mind paying but that price seems like robbery.
 
i was a little shocked at the quote that i got for both rims plus clear coat. $600. i will look elsewhere if i decide to go that route for better prices as ive heard that it was much cheaper than chroming
 
I had my rims coated for $140 around Chicago, I had to deliver them with the bearings and tires removed.
 
yeah i need to clarify that. that price is with dropping the bike off so maybe not to bad
 
Maybe some one here could do a litte photoshop here for you to get an Idea.
 
I powdercoat rims for a couple local shops in Mpls area. I generally charge between $150-240 for powder coating rims. It really depends on what is needed to be done to them. Some need to be stripped to be done right and others not.

Powder coating rims is an excellent way to accent or compliment your bike.
