Road trip, wife says no

Have to meet customers tomorrow at a cabinet manufacturing factory, 100k job.

It's a 128 miles trip, weather looks good, thought it would be an excellent opportunity to take the Busa out.

Wife says, bad idea, bad marketing, it will be a showoff, all about me, attracting attention to myself.

So I guess it I will be going in the truck, maybe she has a point?

I disagree.
If the owner agreed to drive 2 hours to meet customers, and chose to ride his motorcycle, that just shows that he wanted to enjoy the trip.
To me it has a cool business appeal.
I have met alot of non-riders who are fascinated with motorcycles.
It would also be good marketing to most people you meet...who remember you or your business because you were the guy that showed up on a motorcycle...and a Hayabusa at that.
With respect to your wife, there are some things women just don't understand, lol

I agree with your wife but for different reasons. You can't dress appropriately for a meeting with customers for a 100K job wearing riding gear so I would take the truck. If I were attending that meeting with that amount of cash at stake I'd dress business casual with a nice pair of slacks, dress shoes and a nice dress shirt with tie or Polo shirt and depending on the clientele I might even wear a suit. There's plenty of opportunities to ride your bike but there may not be many opportunities to secure a 100K contract.

I agree with Wellcraft. This is a big job, you need to impress the clients as much as possible.
Dress for success, and for goodness sake show up with coffee and donuts if it’s a morning meeting or some kind of afternoon treats with sodas and waters.
Treat it like a first date, try to make them fall in love with you.
Leave the bike at home.

I don't disagree with this either, but when the business is ran by a 'retired' guy, who rode two hours to meet with customers, on his sharp looking motorcycle, wearing full gear, says to me he is enjoying life and secure in himself.
That it isn't about his fancy salesman suit wowing a potential customer, but whether or not they like his knowledge and pricing.
The fact that he is not trying to impress anyone should be a plus, as more of a polite 'I'de like to have your business...but I don't Need it'.
Or if anyone thinks that he is trying to atract attention with the bike, I would just be normal and downplay it.
'It's a great day to ride, couldn't pass up the trip', and change the subject...unless positive bike questions follow, as they often do.
Or, put some shoes, slacks, and collared shirt in a backpack, or a bag bungee corded around the passenger seat.

LOL, you are a little too far away, otherwise we could ride together. From Pinehurst to Gastonia.

99.9% sure we have the contract, but I will probably do the right thing, drive down with the truck and buy everybody lunch.

Home owner and his son both ride Harley’s. Building new home, moving here from MA.

My grandad was an engineer for an auto sheetmetal press company. Mostly Ford and Chrysler. When he went to Ford he drove his Mercury. When he went to Chrysler, he took the wife's Chrysler.

The Mercury had this permanent scent of Prince Albert.
