Beemer Dan - In the Hospital.

Hi Ray,
My deepest apologies for not getting back to you. Not long after I got
your response I was hit by a truck that ran a red light. I was t-boned
and was thrown about 40 feet. I had a bleeding bruise on my brain, a
broken hip, 2 breaks in each bone in my lower left leg, my left leg was
dislocated from the hip, a jugular hemotoma(made my chest swell out
about 4 inches) and a very large share of bruises. My 1996 BMW R850R
Roadster was a total, it went under the truck. So I spent 18 horrifying
days and equal that many nightmare filled nights at various hospitals.
The surgeries were only the first couple of days, things have very
slowly gotten better since. It's been 2 months, I'm hoping to find out
this week if I can begin to learn how to walk again. My head injury is
almost completely healed, it's hard to tell tho since I'm still on allot
of meds.
So, other than that things are ok. I'll be taking ALOT of road
trips
next summer to make up for the downtime. I hope you have been able to do
alot of riding and haven't had any of my experiences this summer.
If you have any stories or photos of the rides you did this summer I'd
love to see them, I'll even publish them on the UTMC page if you like.
I'm hoping to be picking up a 2000 BMW R1200C in a month or two, gloss
black with black anodized chrome, I can't wait!
