rod bearings

howdy yall. this my first attempt at major engine work on a bike . the engine is sitting on my bench lol.

so i’ve done research into the reading of codes to determine my rod/main bearings for the crank and rods. i’ve also learned about plastigage and its use for measuring clearance. i’m feeling pretty confident when it comes to the bearings themselves, im just not too certain on how to gain access to them…


do yall have any advice on the most straight forward path to access the bottom end ? i’m currently planning on following the owners manual steps.

Just follow the service manual and you will be ok.
A bore-gage and caliper will give you a more accurate measurement than plastigage too, but that works.
