roll on power

if you have two busas that are bone stock except for one haveing a 16 tooth up front versues the stock 17 on the other one everything else be even both bikes starting in first gear at about 4000 ehich bike would win in a 1/4 mile test ?

Everything else being equal, the 16 tooth bike would win. You would have to have identical riders on both bikes to prove that though.

That's also assuming both bikes can get equal power to the ground. The 16 tooth bike would be a tad more wheelie prone, which may cause the rider to need to roll out of the throttle or feather more clutch. Just a thought....

I agree with Fastzx9, the person that can make the rubber and asphalt connect should win. Unless, one is just a better rider

Just yesterday I street raced a busa with the exact same mods as mine except for his had 16tooth and mine 17tooth. we did a roll on at around 4000 and he would pull me about 1 1/2 bikes till I switched to 3rd gear then I walked by him and kept going, he would stay about 1 bike behind me.we both talked about how the two bikes ran and how the different gears changed the two bikes and how than ran.I personnaly like the way he would jump out on me the rest can be made up in riding style. just my .02 cents worth.

I run the 16 tooth and have ran against busas with stock gearing, its too close to call really. The 16 definately makes it more wheelie prone.

I had a 99 Zx-9 and me and a buddy used to race all the time from roll ons( and I mean all the time, anytime we had a straight). One day we raced and I went to the house and dropped a tooth went right back out and raced again. To my suprise it was still a dead up race. I gained absolutely nothing from a roll on. It did however help tremendously when launching the bike and second gear wheelies.
