Rough night at work...

One of the female dietary managers in an Illinois state prison was found unconsious and beat all to hell in a closet about 10:30 this morning. Prison throughout the state are on lockdown till they found out what happened and who did it. Keep in mind, this was at a minimum security prison. As of last word, a few hours ago, she still had not come around. Most likely, this will never see the news. Illinois department of corrections calls these "isolated insidents" that are not newsworthy. Most of you have seen all the prison riots and escapes throughout the country the last few months. These are just situations that are so big, they cant be swept under the rug, thats the only reason they make the news. This will not be a good year for anyone working in the system in any state. We are run so short now on staff its bordering on insanity. Hold on, the ride has just begun.

Im alright most of the time. Most of those guys tend to walk wide circles around me, there convinced I'm a little more looped than they are. I'm also one of the gang specialist and a tactical team member (we wear orange jumpsuits so we can be seen in a riot, so they call us "the orange crush", they avoid us for the most part)

If you find the scum, some Judge will probably find that it was justified because she didn't provide the inmate with his requested culinary diet request of Ding Dongs or 16 oz steaks  

. Ya do know they're only in the prison because of inbeded social problems they have and you are suppose to treat them for our social neglects  

. They're not there to serve a sentence because they've REALLY done anything wrong or because they're JUST ONE STEP ABOVE TOTAL HUMAN DEBRIS

Happens a hundred times everyday throughout the state. Short staff = dangerous situations.

We have some cameras, but they need to work to be effective. And they dont cover all areas.
