I'm thinkng about running a set of Shinko R003's on the rear and the F003's on the front. How are these going to wear? Are they gonna be alright for me to hit the mountain curves or are these straight line only tires. I've heard different things about these tires and figured i'd check with you guys and get some info before i install a set. I ride the hell outta my bike and basicly do everything on it.
Being that they're a relatively cheap on price i figure i would try them.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.

I've got an 003 rear on mine now and have almost 3000 miles on it, but it's bald. I was happy with it even in the twisties, but I don't have a lot of experience on bikes so I can't really compare it to many others. I did use all of it, no chicken strips, well almost no chicken strips. It lasted longer than the stocker also. I don't drag, but I ride pretty hard sometimes and ride a butt load of wheelies. Hope this helps.

I had a Shinko on my 900rr..................
hope that helps!!!!!!!!!

I got a 003 on the rear, works great as a drag tire, sucks on the street. Got a buddy with a different type of Shinko on his 02 Gixxer 1k, he HATES it for twisties and wheelies. If you don't drag, buy a different tire. Cheap ain't always good.
I still got an oem Bridgestone on the front.

I do drag, but i also ride alot on the street. I bought some swingarm extensions and am sticking my 16/42 gearing back in. So i'm gonna need a good tire. Sounds like i just need another rear wheel.

16/42 and extensions? A shinko 003 is your friend. If you plan on removing the extensions for twisty days, then yeah buying a new wheel and chain will make the switch easier....

I have a shinko on mine. I bought it for the price.

Looks like its going to wear pretty fast.Handling and traction is allright. I don't ride very hard so it works for me.

Being that my Busa's lifted and lowered all the time, I think i'm gonna be the first guy to wear out a set of dogbone bolts. LOL.

I've adjusted my chain so much i can set it by eye. I still check the measurement though.

I use them on the street and track and never had one handling issue with them.

I know it's an expensive option, but you could always find a used rim from a parts bike and use it only for the drag tire, then use your original for your street tire.

In the long run, it may save you some hassles.

i have run lots of different tires. I have been very happy with Shinko 005 foir the road.

If you ride the twisties aggressive you'll feel the rear slip with the R003...

If you like the twisties that's not a great tire for you, it will slip. For the street the only tires i run are the Mich Pilot, and the pirr Diablos. for even better handeling drop the rear to a 180 (i know dropping tire size sounds lame) you will notice a handeling improvment in the twisties.

dont ride with the shinko in the rain....i didnt think about it being on the bike, since i have a stock tire and rim also. i had left it on after i got back from a race. anyway i was going somewhere and it started raining, i was doing 80 at the time and all of a sudden it hydroplaned... so did i. was wearing a tshirt and pants with a backpack... no scratches. anyway i picked the bike up and rode about a mile doing 50 and it happened again. oh well, #### happens.

I'm going to run a Shinko R003 with the matching front.

Good or bad, i'll give a real world evaluation on how they perform.
